NONE CIM Professional Qualification syllabi Professional Diploma and Professional Postgraduate Diploma (students who undertake the full time MSc Marketing are entitled to become affiliate members of the CIM during their time at the University of Wolverhampton) Students who undertake the Postgraduate Certificate in Marketing course will have gained sufficient credits in Marketing to progress on to the Chartered Institute of Marketing Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (level 7) stage. This is the first step towards the Chartered Marketer status. Students will be eligible to become Affiliate-studying members of the CIM during their time at the University of Wolverhampton. By completing the MSc Innovation and Entrepreneurship, students will have completed all the requirements of the CMI Level 7 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership. Students will be entitled to that award by separately applying to the CMI, and paying to them the appropriate fees. It was also pointed out that the department had been approached to provide modules for other schools. Action: Developmental Lead to confirm with the Associate Dean, Quality Enhancement: the involvement of STech in the proposal for MSc Innovation and Enterprise; cross-school modules being developed for other schools courses. Response: Confirmed that there would be no involvement from other Schools. Curriculum Design Meetings These will be held w/c 8 th November 2010 and will include discussion of Learning and Teaching / Assessment / engagement with students etc. The meetings should include all members of the Developmental Team, where possible and be chaired by the Developmental Lead. The External Adviser should be invited to this meeting and if unable to attend asked to contribute by correspondence. It was noted that Developmental Leads should also engage ILE/LIS/Registry in curriculum development activities. ILE in particular were keen to offer advice/staff development. Action: Developmental Lead to inform the Officer of the date of the meeting in order to include in the contract letter to the External Adviser. Developmental Leads to approach ILE for any advice/staff development needs. Training on e:vision / WOLF Training sessions on e:vision will be held on 17 th and 19 th November It is the intention that these will be drop-in sessions for Module Leaders to input module details onto e:vision. Framework Option 2, delivering 20 credit modules in 3x 9 week blocks to be submitted to Academic Board in November The dissertation would be 60 credits, of which an element, i.e. 20 credits, could be taught, possibly Research Methods. How the dissertation would fit into the framework was yet to be confirmed, but a possible scenario was that work on the dissertation would begin in block 2, (students undertaking the taught element at this point, with block 3 for supervision from the tutor and the summer period to complete). The use of blended learning is consistent across modules. Further, it is clear how employability and professional skills are embedded. The overall design of curriculum is conducive to encourage deep learning in students and lead students to relate theory to practice. For the provision included in the above process record, I can confirm that academic standards are set at the appropriate levels and that the course structure, content and available resources are such that standards can be met.
