2 Speakers Dorene Weston, MBA 1992 Principal Full Circle Consulting Inc. Dorene Weston has over 25 years experience in a range of services related to immigrants and refugees, English language instruction and linguistic access to services. Her MBA from Schulich, front-line experience serving newcomers and solid volunteer background have complemented her full-time and contract work in the field. Dorene has a public appointment to the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario and has served on community boards of directors. She has been a mentor to two Schulich MBA students from India. Dorene owns and operates Full Circle Consulting Inc. For the past 15 years, her company has helped nonprofit organizations do what they do best. Working on her own or in partnership with a network of consultants with hands-on experience in the sector, she has undertaken a range of projects from program planning to fundraising to evaluation. From time to time, Dorene takes on interim management roles, most recently as interim executive director of a small nonprofit agency serving seniors. She was Associate Director, Nonprofit Management and Leadership Program at Schulich from Her ability to facilitate meaningful conversations, clear writing style and understanding of the nonprofit sector contribute greatly to her work.
3 Rebecca Chesley, MBA 2004 Marketing Manager United Way of Greater Toronto Rebecca is a graduate of the Schulich MBA program, with a specialization in Arts & Media Administration and a focus in nonprofit management and marketing. Prior to completing her MBA, she was a theatre stage manager, after completing her undergraduate degree in Theatre at Concordia in Montreal. Since completing her graduate degree over ten years ago, she has worked in both fundraising and marketing for large nonprofit organizations such as the Canadian Cancer Society and United Way Toronto, leading engagement and fundraising programs, and marketing and promotional campaigns. Today, Rebecca is at United Way Toronto where she is part of the Marketing Department, assisting with the development of marketing strategy, the execution of ad campaigns, and the execution of special events.
4 Suranjita Khaund, IMBA 2006 Program Manager, the Research Institute Hospital for Sick Children Suranjita s involvement with non profits goes way back to childhood in India. She worked there at the grass-roots level with organizations that helped underprivileged people that the rudimentary social service system was unable to help. Over the years she found the work highly rewarding and her engagement continued on after moving to Canada. Graduating from the Schulich School of Business in 2006, Suranjita s first job was working for a US-based company with clients like Walmart, BMW, P&G, etc. The work was demanding as well as rewarding, but something seemed missing and soon she found herself drawn back into the non-profit sector, this time not as a volunteer but as an employee. Suranjita joined Municipal Property Assessment Corporation for four years where she helped shape a new direction in the organization s strategy. Later Suranjita moved to the Hospital for Sick Children, a place that provided services that made a difference that she could see. She currently manages various programs and projects in their Information Management portfolio. Any day a walk through the hallways serves to reinforce why she came here in the first place and always makes her appreciate her decision more. Throughout these years Suranjita has also been a member of the Board of Directors for Across Boundaries, an organization providing support and guidance to people suffering from severe mental health issues, another role that has been intrinsically rewarding.
