The Programme Commission on Health, Food, and Welfare (JJE). The research includes protein characterization (structure, function, activity) and proteomic studies. Protein research is conducted in collaboration with biologists, physicians, chemists, and bioinformaticians. Main area of interests: Extracellular matrix proteins and their interplay, proteolytic enzymes and their inhibitors, cancer- related biomarkers, and transcriptomics and proteomics studies of hitherto uncharacterized species. I have published 13 peer- reviewed articles in international journals since 2005 (please see pubmed), including 8 first authorships. In total, 5 of the publications were in the highly prestigious Journal of Biological Chemistry. In addition, Sanggaard et al., Mol Cell Proteomics, 11, made the cover of the top proteomics journal, Molecular and Cellular Proteomics (2012). 1

2 Technical experience: 1D and 2D gel electrophoresis, biological mass spectrometry (MALDI, LC- MS/MS, and de novo sequencing), protein and peptide purification (FPLC and HPLC), immunochemistry, N- terminal protein sequencing, and biochemical activity assays, molecular biology and bioinformatics tools. Supervision: Co- supervision of 4 B.Sc. students, 6 M.Sc. students, one laboratory technician, two PhD students and one Post doc Supervisor on high school project (SRP).
