5 Frequently asked questions (FAQ) 1. What s the difference between backup images and file level backup? Image backup or file backup? If you want to know which will suit you best, you need to know the difference. Are the terms "image" and "backup" interchangeable? No, they are not even close to being the same thing. Though these terms are often used as if they mean same thing, there's a big difference. While backup software programs generally copy just your data, image software makes a full, exact copy of your hard drive a mirror image of the operating system, software, data, file organization everything.
