2 Aim and purpose of the institute The ITC Institut TakeCare has been founded in the year 2007 as a scientifically independent, empirical research institute in Hamburg, Germany. Monitoring of healthcare reality and healthcare quality in the relevant sectors in the SHI and PHI are central task fields of the institute. Essential determinants are the economic efficiency and the medical effectivity of healthcare from the perspective of the patient, i. e. patient relevant outcomes. Data of healthcare reality and healthcare quality is recognized in three hierarchical levels: Data and facts about the structure quality Illustration of the process quality and the corresponding key-performance-indications Depiction of outcome quality and the outcome of healthcare The institute has several research topics: Empirical foundation of the current realities in healthcare focused on areas and/ or indications Surveys on structure-, process- and outcome-quality of healthcare Investigation of over- and under-supply and misuse Elaboration of differences in healthcare-quality SHI versus PHI Implications of the AMNOG-procedure for orphan drugs and the supply-quality of involved patients Development of benchmark-trials and best-practice-concepts Identification of market development, trends and shift of interests Development of concepts to enhance adherence, compliance or shared-decisionconcepts Direction of the institute Scientific Direction PD Dr. rer. pol. habil. 3 Target and purpose of the institute The institute systematically collects primary data with telephone-interviews, mailings and surveys. Available secondary data of the health care system is made accessible by desk research. The institute publishes corresponding national and international publications. Another focus of the institute is the field of rare diseases and the suitable orphan drugs which are used for the treatment. The Institut TakeCare offers extensive consulting value for this theme. From development of the integral marketing strategy to the support of the proccess-steps which are important for the AMNOG act including support with the price negotiations against the SpiBu. The institute also supports the development of MEA-contracts (Market Entry Agreements). The handling of specific issues, as well as the generation of client specific solutions for patientmarketing (e.g. hotline) and market access for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, genetic tests and AMTPs & companion diagnostics of the outpatient and inpatient sector round off the portfolio. The institute works at the entire medical value chain from prevention to palliative care. The clients of the institute TakeCare are public institutions, organisations of the health care system, payers of the SHI and PHI, health providers in the outpatient and inpatient healthcare, patient-associations as well as companies of the pharma-market, medical device-companies or providers of diagnostics and corresponding service provider for the industry. Because of the interactive menu navigation and the hierarchical structure of the NAVIGATOR Expert-Report the user can be led in a both deep and wide information area. Particularly the targeted communication of relevant contents in a complex and eclectic database is of high importance. Furthermore we are offering the conception and modeling of specific scenarios for the development in selected care segments. ACT Academic Consulting Team With the Academic Consulting Team the ITC is exploring new paths in scientific and conceptual consultancy. The ATC team works project-related and focused on specific issues. Members are master-degree-students with a bachelor-degree coming from universities or universities of applied sciences including a health economics faculty. The ACT members have gathered more than two years of operative experience in different consultancy-projects. Furthermore different scientific-empirical reports were published by them.
