8 New inline baggage screening node AIDX moving forward o New airlines coming online Bringing ERA multi-lateration system online, integrating into FIDS feed New document management and retention system Almost complete with airport wide 2D barcode printing capability Baggage claim remodel; replacing old monitors with flat panel and new FIDS WiFi for commercial use o Very quick adoption on commercial side o Most carriers do something or a couple things on WiFi network o No carriers are using it for Electronic flight bag or entertainment updates but there has been talk o Wheelchair vendors is using network to dispatch Have two-step bag drop process o Airport is supplying bar code scanners to bag drop desks; after check-in passenger can go to next available counter, when the agent scans boarding pass it starts the bag tag printer o Southwest is piloting Worked closely with air carriers to deploy irregular ops kiosks and reaccommodation desks o Podium with two kiosk, can be agent assisted or self-service Relocating airport control center New terminal will double the amount of cameras Continuing to work on heliport Continuing to work through environmental studies for new airport The Manchester Airport Group Martin Smith See presentation on BIT Committee seminar site, Broward County Aviation Department (FLL) Bonnie Greenberg Moving forward with introduction of common use to airport o Opportunity to start integrating backend systems Overcame a political battle; agency of county which meant employees had to work on two separate networks (county and airport), we were able to connect the networks Replacing FIDS which includes the replacement of all CRTs with flat panels Developed a Business Intelligence pilot o Evaluating results o Concentrating on executive dashboard o One lesson learned; if you don t collect information you can t get it out of system Upgrades to parking system o Possibly implement Sunpass but it has been very frustrating; lots of hidden costs Page 8 of 12 October 10, 2009
