1 CIBC Student Want to Win $5,000 Contest (the Contest ) OPEN ONLY TO STUDENTS WHO ARE ENROLLED IN A CANADIAN POST SECONDARY INSTITUTUION Governed by Canadian Law BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST, ENTRANTS AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE RULES (the Rules ) THE CONTEST: The CIBC Student Want to Win $5,000 Contest ( the Contest ) commences at 12:00:01 a.m. Eastern Time ( ET ) on August 1, 2014 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. ET September 30, 2014 (the Contest Period ). CONTEST ADMINISTATOR: The Marco Corporation, 470 Hardy Rd, Brantford, Ontario, N3V 6T1 (the Contest Administrator ) SPONSOR: Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce ( CIBC or Sponsor ). THE PRIZES: There are a total of five (5) prizes (each a Prize ) available to be won. Each Prize consists of $5,000 cash (to be paid into the winner s CIBC Everyday Chequing Account with CIBC Advantage for Students ). The approximate retail value of each Prize is $5, All amounts in these rules are in Canadian dollars. If the winner does not have a CIBC Everyday Chequing Account with CIBC Advantage for Students, one will be opened in his/her name, and once all account opening documentation has been completed and it is confirmed that the winner has fully complied with the contest rules, the $5,000 will be deposited into that account. The Prizes must be accepted as awarded; a Prize cannot be substituted or transferred to a third party. However, Sponsor may in its discretion substitute for any Prize another prize which is, in Sponsor s opinion, of equal or greater value. Any additional costs not described in these Rules as part of the Prize that are incurred in collecting and using the Prize are the winner's responsibility. Maximum one Prize per person. TO ENTER: No Purchase Necessary. There are five methods to enter the Contest during the Contest Period: 1. Open a new CIBC Everyday Chequing Account with CIBC Advantage for Students. In the case of joint accounts, only the first name on the application will be entered for a chance to win.

2 2. Open a CIBC Aventura Visa Student Card, or CIBC Aero Platinum Visa* Card for Students, or CIBC Tim Hortons Double Double Visa* Card for Students or a CIBC Classic Visa Card for Students. Applicants must satisfy all CIBC criteria required to open the aforementioned student credit cards. CIBC Aventura Visa Student Card, CIBC Aero Platinum Visa* Card for Students, CIBC Tim Hortons Double Double Visa* Card for Students, CIBC Classic Visa Card for Students must be approved and opened during the Contest Period in order to qualify for an entry in the Contest. Only the student applicant will be entered for a chance to win in cases where there is a co-signer on the application. 3. Open a CIBC Education Line of Credit ( ELOC ) or a Professional Edge Student Program. All applicants must satisfy CIBC eligibility and lending criteria to open an ELOC or Professional Edge Student Program. The loan must be approved during the Contest Period in order to qualify for an entry in the Contest. Only the student applicant will obtain an entry in the Contest if there is a co-signer on the application. 4. Increase the current limit on your existing CIBC ELOC or Professional Edge Student Program. Entrant must meet all CIBC criteria for limit increase, and the limit increase must be approved during the Contest Period. 5. Write an original 100-word essay on the subject of methods that students can save money. Write your name, phone number, address, mailing address and signature on the essay, and send it to: CIBC Student Want to Win $5,000 Contest, PO Box 4099, Paris, Ontario, N3L 3W9. No photocopied, computer generated facsimiles, mechanically reproduced, or mass entries permitted. Original signature of entrant must be on essay and essay must be an original work of the entrant. Written entries must be postmarked by the Contest Deadline and received by September 22, 2014 in order to be eligible. Entrants may enter the Contest by each method of entry only once, with a limit of five (5) entries per person (i.e., one per entry method set out above). Entries that exceed the limit will not be entered into the Contest. *If you open one of the above student products or raise the limit on your existing CIBC Education Line of Credit or Professional Edge Student Program and do not wish to be entered into the Contest, please send an to CIBCcontests@TheMarcoCorporation.com informing us that you do not wish to be entered into the CIBC Student Want to Win $5,000 Contest. ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to win, you must be: (i) a legal resident of Canada, (ii) age 16 or older; and (iii) enrolled full time or part time in a Canadian post-secondary institution. Employees, representatives and agents/mandataries of the Sponsor, the Contest Administrator and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, related companies, advertising and promotional agencies, or anyone domiciled with any of the foregoing are not eligible to enter the Contest. Whether or not any particular person complies with any and/or all of the eligibility requirements will be determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion. At request of the Sponsor a selected entrant may be required to provide proof, in a form acceptable to the Sponsor in the Sponsor s sole discretion, of enrolment at a Canadian post-secondary institution. All entries and essays become the property of the Sponsor and none will be returned. THE DRAW:

3 On or about October 31, 2014 at approximately 2:00 p.m. ET, in Brantford, ON the Contest Administrator will make a random draw from all eligible entries to select the names of 5 potential winners. The odds of being selected depend on the number of eligible entries received. The Contest Administrator will contact by telephone only those persons whose names are drawn. TO WIN: Within 3 business days of being contacted by the Contest Administrator, the selected entrant must respond to the Contest Administrator at the telephone number provided by the Contest Administrator. Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question. If the Contest Administrator is unable to reach the selected entrant within 3 business days, or if the selected entrant fails to answer correctly the mathematical skill testing question, the selected entrant will be disqualified and the Contest Administrator may select another entrant or entrants for a chance to win. The selected entrant must, or, if he or she is a minor in his/her province or territory of residence, his/her parent or legal guardian must, within 5 business days of receipt, complete, sign and return to the Contest Administrator the Sponsor s declaration of compliance with the Contest rules, a publicity release allowing the Sponsor to use the selected entrant s name, city/province/territory of residence and/or photograph in advertising or other publicity in connection with the Contest, including print, broadcast or the internet, such as publication on the CIBC or other website(s) of his/her name and the fact that he/she is a Prize winner, disclosure of the fact that he/she is a CIBC customer, without any payment or other compensation, and a release releasing the Released Parties, as defined below, from any claims or liability relating to the Contest or the Prize. If the selected entrant (or his/her parent or legal guardian if applicable) does not complete, sign and return the declaration of compliance and release forms within 5 business days of receipt, the Contest Administrator may disqualify the entrant. In that case, the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to randomly select an alternate eligible entrant or entrants from among the remaining eligible entries in accordance with the process described above. Unless the selected entrant entered the Contest via the write-in method, the selected entrant s CIBC Everyday Chequing Account with CIBC Advantage for Students, CIBC Aventura Visa Student Card, CIBC Aero Platinum Visa* Card for Students, CIBC Tim Hortons Double Double Visa* Card for Students, CIBC Classic Visa Card for Students and/or CIBC ELOC or Professional Edge Student Program must all be verified as open and in good standing prior to the selected entrant being declared a winner. Once the selected entrant has complied with these rules and is declared a winner, the Contest Administrator will contact each winner with details on how to claim his/her Prize. All entries are subject to verification and a selected entrant will not be considered a winner until his/her compliance with the Rules has been verified. If, as a result of an error relating to the entry process, drawing or any other aspect of the Contest, there are more selected entrants than contemplated by these Rules, there will be a random draw from amongst eligible selected entrants to award the correct number of Prizes. 4 The Sponsor reserves the right, subject to the jurisdiction of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux in Quebec, to, without notice, cancel the Contest and award none, some or all of the Prizes for any reason, including, but not limited to, if the Sponsor determines in its sole discretion that an event or cause, including, but not limited to, the loss or destruction of entries, a virus, bug, or computer, electronic or system malfunction, human error, the unavailability of entry methods, or another cause beyond the Sponsor s control, has impaired the integrity, security, administration or fair play of the Contest. The Sponsor also reserves the right to, without notice, suspend the Contest and/or amend these Contest rules, subject to the jurisdiction of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux in Quebec, at any time if the Sponsor, acting in its sole discretion, determines that it must suspend the Contest and/or amend the Contest rules in order to address a an impairment or to preserve the integrity of the Contest. If the Contest terminates for any reason before the end of the Contest Period, the Contest Administrator may hold a random draw from all entries received up until the termination date of the Contest to award the Prizes. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law, including but not limited to criminal prosecution. The Sponsor's failure to enforce any term of the Contest rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. By entering the Contest, each entrant accepts and agrees to these Rules and all decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final and legally binding on entrants in all matters relating to the Contest. The Sponsor may disqualify any person who violates the Contest rules. If there is a conflict between the English and the French version of the Contest rules, the English version shall prevail. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. All matters in relation to the Contest and the awarding of Prizes, including without limitation the eligibility of entrants, the declaration of a winner and any entrant s compliance with the Contest rules, will be determined in the sole discretion of the Sponsor whose decisions in all such matters is final, subject to the jurisdiction of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec, if required by law. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: The Sponsor, Sponsor s agencies and the Contest Administrator, including their respective directors, officers, employees, affiliates and other designated agents (the Released Parties ), assume no responsibility or liability for technical, website, computer, software, hardware or server malfunctions or errors, including, but not limited to, those that may affect the transmission, processing or validation of Contest entries; or for human or technical errors related to the administration of the Contest; or for lost, late, deleted, altered, destroyed, unintelligible/illegible, falsified, damaged, misdirected or incomplete entries, essays, notifications, declaration of compliance and release forms, responses, replies or erroneous winner or potential winner announcements. Released Parties will not be responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information utilized in the Contest or provided in the Contest rules or Contest advertising. The Released Parties will not be responsible for any damage which occurs to an entrant s or a third party s software or hardware from

5 participating in the Contest. The Released Parties make no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind concerning the Prize and disclaim any implied warranty. Contest entrants forever release and discharge the Released Parties from any and all actions, causes of action, claims, costs and payments for damages, loss, injury, or death, however occurring as a result of participating in the Contest or accepting and using or misusing a Prize in the Contest. By entering the Contest, the entrant agrees to fully indemnify the Released Parties from any and all claims by third parties relating to the entrant s participation in the Contest or use or misuse of the Prize. PRIVACY: By entering this Contest, entrants agree to provide such personal information necessary for the administration of this Contest, which will be used in accordance with CIBC s Privacy Policy found at FOR RESIDENTS OF QUEBEC: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a Prize may be submitted to the board only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement. LIST OF WINNERS: The names of the winners may be obtained by mail by writing to CIBC Student Want to Win $5,000 Contest PO Box 4099, Paris, Ontario N3L 3W9 within 120 days after the end of the Contest Period.
