There are 45 degree-granting colleges on 90 campuses and many have received a certificate of authorization from the Ohio Board of Regents. Career Colleges and Schools are privately owned and operated and not supported by any federal, state, or local tax money. All Career Colleges and Schools are licensed by the State of Ohio; overseen by the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools; approved by the U.S. Department of Education. Many Career Colleges and Schools are nationally and/or regionally accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges, The Higher Learning Commission (North Central Associations of Colleges) and the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, among others. Career college students account for about one-third of all the health and computer majors; two occupations projected to be among the fastest growing jobs in Ohio through Approximately 76% of graduates find jobs in their field of study within 90 days of graduation.
