11 Your safety is our most precious commodity. Your Sprinter s standard equipment includes one thing above all: your safety. It is the first van to feature a standard-fit Crosswind Assist, which counteracts drifting through selective braking and helps you stay in lane while driving. Also part of the standard specification, its innovative driving dynamics control system ADAPTIVE ESP takes into account the vehicle load in order to meter brake actuations correctly. The ADAPTIVE ESP includes two further important functions: Brake Disc Wipe 1 and Electronic Brake Prefill 2. 1 In rain this system cyclically removes the film of water from the brake discs and thus helps to shorten the stopping distance. 2 Cuts the reaction time in case of braking and thus shortens the stopping distance. The Crosswind Assist recognises strong gusts of side wind in good time making use of the ADAPTIVE ESP driving dynamics control system sensors. At speeds over 80 km/h it corrects the vehicle s course by means of automatic braking interventions at the wheels on the side of the vehicle facing the wind. Crosswind Assist in 3D. Safety 11

12 05 01 Blind Spot Assist. The Blind Spot Assist helps avoid accidents by detecting vehicles in the blind spot and giving the driver visual and acoustic warnings. Highbeam Assist. The Highbeam Assist automatically controls the main beam for good vision in accordance with the surroundings and traffic situation. Lane Keeping Assist. The Lane Keeping Assist warns the driver if they leave their lane unintentionally through acoustic and visual signals. COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST. Gives visual and acoustic warnings if the distance to a vehicle or ob stacle is insufficient and uses BAS PRO to provide assistance with emergency braking. Reversing camera. The reversing camera is a visual parking aid and enhances safety when reversing and manoeuvring. 03

One of the highlights: the COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST. It gives visual and acoustic warnings if the distance to a vehicle or obstacle is insufficient and provides assistance with emergency braking. You can find the optionally available safety packages and the features they include in the table below. With your Sprinter you receive the Crosswind Assist as standard plus a wide range of further standard-fit safety equipment items such as a driver s front airbag, three-point seat belts with belt tensioners and belt force limiters for the driver and co-driver, 4-way head restraints on all seats, hydraulic braking system, adaptive brake lights, tyre pressure monitoring system and exterior mirrors with integral additional wide-angle mirrors. With the optional automatic transmission 7G-TRONIC PLUS the Sprinter is the first and only van in its class to offer the efficiency, smooth running characteristics and ride comfort of a passenger car. The innovative 7G-TRONIC PLUS technology increases the shifting efficiency of the transmission and so contributes to the low fuel consumption of the Sprinter. The vehicle has been lowered by approximately 30 mm 1, completing the high level of ride comfort. Variability is a major attribute of the Sprinter Crewbus: A few simple moves is all it takes to transform the passenger compartment with its generous seating configuration into a spacious cargo area capable of transporting the bulkiest and heaviest items with ease, within the maximum payload limits, as and when required. Near-vertical inner walls and levelled-off wheel arches allow the load compartment to be used to the full. And thanks to the weight-optimised plastic flooring, the payload of the Sprinter is increased by up to 35 kg. Whether it s a single co-driver s seat or twin bench seat, 2- or 3-passenger bench seats for the passenger compartment: with the Sprinter Crewbus you have at your disposal a multitude of optional seating variants which can be removed and modified in next to no time thanks to quick-release latches. With innovative measures the optional BlueEFFICIENCY packages significantly reduce fuel consumption. With BlueTEC and the SCR diesel technology (Selective Catalytic Reduction) which it includes the NO x emissions 2 can be cut. In order for this to happen the nitrogen oxides are fed through a catalytic converter where they are mixed with the waterbased additive AdBlue.
