3 Carrier overview BumbleBI IT March Now Microsoft BI Consultant Carglass Nederland For Carglass, I ll be creating new operational and financial reports on SSRS and SSAS Extracted data from different data sources will stored in a 3NF central data store (sort of a Raw DWH) thanks to SSIS and custom modeling. The main focus will be on General Ledger (GL) and operational reports and analytics. For example profit loss (PL), balances and operational reports. Oct March 2014 Microsoft BI Consultant Volvo Financial Services VFS EMEA / Global BI initiative After the pre-study / analysis phase, we started development on the VFS EMEA Data Warehouse (DWH). Daily deltas will be delivered via IBM Websphere MQ. The Staging area, DWH (Data Vault) and DM will be implemented on an IBM PureData (Netezza) Appliance. The front-end will be using the Microsoft BI Stack: SQL Server Analysis & Reporting Services 2008 R2 and SharePoint as a delivery platform. My personal involvement in the development of the VFS EMEA DWH was to create an automated delivery mechanism that determines if data has been changed by using hashing and if so, generate so called delta messages (XML) and send these to the MQ broker. Technologies used for this mechanism are a SSIS 2008 R2 package, PowerShell scripts, MQFT client and SQL Server 2008 R2 itself. May 2013 Oct Microsoft BI Consultant Volvo Financial Services VFS EMEA / Global BI initiative The BI4RO pilot was a success and the VFS EMEA management decided to launch an EMEA and Global BI initiative. Together with our American counterparts from VFS North Americas (VFSNA), we ve been gathering all the requirements for a global Data Vault (DV) model for the Global Data Warehouse (DWH). This process includes defining global KPI s, align entities/names and analyze all available data (granularity). Jan May 2013 Microsoft BI Consultant Volvo Financial Services Business Intelligence for Retail Originations (BI4RO) After a successful proof-of-concept (POC) for Volvo Financial Services (VFS), I was asked as a Microsoft BI consultant to create a pilot. This pilot will be a newly designed BI solution based on SQL Server 2008R2 and will be designed and developed by myself. ETL (SSIS), DWH, Data Marts and PowerPivot Templates will be delivered as a result of this pilot. The Data Warehouse (DWH) will have an international focus that contains international data (like languages, time zones and be unicode-proof ) and will store all historical data changes thanks to SCD Type 6. Logica Jan Mar Microsoft BI Consultant Philips IT Applications LumiLEDs project The goal of the LumiLEDs project was to upgrade/renew several database servers, this regarding software (tooling) and hardware. These database servers are used to process and load fabrication logging. Because of the enormous size of the logging data, this project is unique (considering that the database size is 1.2 TB of only data). The tasks within the scope of this project were migrating from SQL Server 2000/2005 to SQL Server 2008 R2 and the creation of several Stored Procedures (SP s) and SSIS packages. Besides these tasks, the main goal was to make the solutions more future proof. Together with T-Systems and the project team, the database model was redesigned and the new database servers started loading and processing the raw input files. Within weeks or months, these database servers will go into production and take off the load of the older database servers. Page 3
