3 Message from Chair and CEO This year marked our 51 st year of operation in Canada. We are proud to have directly touched the lives of over one million Canadians who have entrusted us with their most sensitive health information and the millions of family and friends who can rest easier knowing that their loved ones are protected by MedicAlert. In 2013 our partnership with the Alzheimers Association of Canada hit full stride: another 5,000 Canadians with dementia now benefit from the MedicAlert Safely Home Program. We launched a new website that affords members more options to keep their information current. And we established partnerships with Sunnybrook Hospital and others that ultimately will help ensure that MedicAlert remains part of the fabric of the Canadian healthcare system. There are three groups whose contribution continues to make MedicAlert a special organization to be part of. Our volunteer Board of Directors devotes countless hours of their time to ensure that we remain a well---run organization with a tight focus on our mission to protect and save lives. Our passionate staff are caring, professional and empathetic and ensure that our services constantly improve. Finally, we are privileged to receive the ongoing support of emergency responders whose cooperation and feedback ensure that MedicAlert is delivering the highest quality lifesaving services. Of course, our existence is made possible by the generous and ongoing support of our members. Your financial support has sustained MedicAlert and your feedback has defined MedicAlert: two hallmarks of a true member---driven organization. Thank You Françoise Faverjon---Fortin Chair, Board of Directors Robert A. Ridge President and CEO MedicAlert Foundation Canada Annual Report
