The fall term begins in late August, the spring term begins in early January. Summer term consists of Mayterm, two 3-week terms and one 6-week term which run concurrently during June and July, and one ten week term that runs from May through July. (Consult the current schedule of classes for exact dates.) The Master of Theology program will operate under a separate module based calendar. APPLICATION MATERIALS REQUIRED ONE OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT must be submitted directly from the Registrar of all previously attended colleges or universities to Graduate Admissions and Services. Admission will not be considered until the final transcript (showing the university seal and the highest degree attained) is on file. THREE RECOMMENDATION FORMS should be completed by persons able to judge academic, employment, and character qualifications of the applicant. These recommendations should be returned to the address indicated for Graduate Admissions and Services. Respondents should not be relatives. Admission will not be considered until the three references are on file. A WRITTEN STATEMENT OF PURPOSE is required for applicants. A form is provided. IT IS THE APPLICANT'S RESPONSIBILITY to assure that all required documents are on file at least 60 days prior to the beginning of the term for which admission is sought. GENERAL INFORMATION Carson-Newman College grants admission to students who demonstrate adequate preparation and who possess the characteristics necessary for success at a Christian liberal arts college. The admission decision is made by the Graduate Admissions Committee of the program in which you wish to enroll and is based on academic credentials, test scores, and recommendations. Admission requirements for each program are listed in the Carson-Newman College Graduate Catalog. In compliance with federal law, including provisions of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Carson-Newman College does not illegally discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, age, or disability in admissions or in the administration of its education policies, programs, and activities.
