2 Operation Manual Bathing system Patriot Security advices Please read this manual carefully. Please use this unit only for the purpose it is designed for. Please obey all remarks named"attention". Purpose of use The Patriot Bathing system is designed to be an economical and to provide care for patient bathing by the nursing staff. Rules and Regulations Please obey all national rules for using this unit. CE-Sign / Classification The CE-sign indicates the fulfillment according to the rule 9//EWG for Medical products. This unit is classified in class 1 according ot the European Medical Product Law. Sign description CE-Sign Warranty and guarantee The manufacturer / importer of this unit is only responsible for the security and proper working of the units, if: a. The unit is used according to its purpose. b. The installation has been done by approved technicans. c. Recommended frequent checks of functions are fulfilled. MPG Medical product law 9//EWG European guide line for medical products In case of delivery damages Please check at the moment of delivery, if the product or the packaging has damages. Inspect packaging at time of delivery. All claims for freight damage must be filed in timely manner. Serial sign The serial sign of the Bathing system Patriot is located as shown in Page, Picture 1 No. 11, at the right side of the tank as well as of the mast of the lift. 7 Function Bath tub Electric and sanitary connection of the Patriot I Bathing system The sanitary connection should be done according to the given data of the seller. The electric connections must be done according to the rules of each country. Please always make sure that the tub is properly connected to the tank and it is standing fixed on the ground. First use After the successful water and electric connection the bathing system Patriot I is ready for use. Filling of the reservoir For filling of the reservoir, please do as follows: 1. Make sure that the tub valve is closed Page, picture 1 No.. Open the valve to fill the reservoir Page, picture 1 No.. By watching the fill gauge Page, Picture 1 No. 1 the filling amount can be seen. Fill the tank until the indicator reaches the red area. The filling will stop automatically when the pre-set water amount is reached.. Close the filling valve 5. The water temperature inside of the reservoir is displayed on the thermometer Page 11, picture 1 (upper thermometer ) Filling of the bath tub ATTENTION Always make sure that the front door is closed and properly locked when filling the tub! 1. After the reservoir is full, the tub can be filled.. Please open the tub filling valve Page, picture 1 No. by turning it a ¼ movement counter clockwise (to the left). The tub will be filled now in about 90 seconds via the covered tub filling tap Page 5, picture No. 5 For the next reservoir filling procedure, the valve tub filling must be closed again. For the next reservoir filling please do as described above. Emptying of the bath tub 1. After the bathing procedure, the water will be removed by turning the drain release to the right. The drain will open and the water will drain out Page 5, picture No. 6. Before the next bathing, the drain has to be closed by turning the drain release to the left. ATTENTION The patient can only move out of the tub after complete emptying of the tub. ATTENTION The opening of the door is only allowed when the the tub is completely empty! Techn. 8 Function Transfer Lift Electric connection Transfer Lift Patriot I The transfer lift is equipped with a battery system V. A proper socket (according to the electric rules of each country) is needed for charging the battery. First use The battery of the Transfer Lift is pre-charged. Therefore the lift can be used immediately after unpackaging. Please check if the emergency stop button is not locked. Page 8, picture 1. For unlocking, please turn it clockwise until it is released. ATTENTION For using the lift, please make sure that the emergency button is not locked. The green LED is lit during the movement. LED-Battery box indicating Description LED Display: Green = Battery is fully charged/ Yellow = Charging, external charged has be connected,/ No LED = no charged connection / Yellow flashing = battery must be charged (0% power left) / Sound: The battery must be charged immediately. 9 Function Bathing system Example for a bathing procedure with the bathing system PATRIOT. The following pictures should be an example how to operate with this system. 10 Bathing procedure 1 Open the door Move the patient into the tub 1 Start of the bathing procedure, open the door The front door will be opened by unlocking the closing mechanism. Page 5, picture No.. To unlock the door, pull the red knob and pull the handle counter clockwise until the knob is released. Make sure that the red knob is locked in both final positions. Picture 1 Picture door locking mechnism Open the door ATTENTION Security knob The opening of the front door is only allowed when tub is empty. Move the patient into the bath tub Lock the door Guide transfer chair into tub along the guide rail, (Page 5, picture, No.10) Raise the transfer lift up/down until the black line has the same level as the upper tub rim. This enables a smoother way in the tub. The lift can now be moved into the tub. ATTENTION Please always check the correct height of the lift seat before moving it in the tub otherwise damages to the tub or/and the transfer lift can occur. Close the door Fill the tub Bathing procedure Emptying of the tub Page 10 Bathing procedure After the transfer lift has been moved into the tub, the front door must be closed and locked. The front door will be closed and locked by using the door grip. Page 5, picture No.. For closing the door, please pull the red knob and move the door grip clockwise upwards until the red knob clicks back in. ATTENTION The red knob (security lock) must be clicking audible in the locking position. This asures that the door is locked safely! Techn. Chances reserved
11 Bathing system Patriot Bathing procedure Patient Bathing For the procedure Filling of the reservoir - Filling of the tub - Drainage of the tub please proceed as described on page 7. 5 After the bathing When the bathing procedure is finished and the water is drained the patient can be moved out of the tub again. The tub and the transfer seat of the lift should be disinfected before using it for the next patient. The installed patient shower can be used for pre-cleaning. With the installed disinfection shower the product can be disinfected on the surface. 6 Disinfection To disinfect: - Open the door for the disinfection system Page, Picture No. 9 - Take the disinfection shower in your hand and hold it over the tub - Open the disinfection valve - Rinse the surface of the product thoroughly. - Let the fluid react according to the time frame of the producer. - Rinse the product by using the white patient shower. Move the patient out of the tub Disinfection / Cleaning next patient Refilling of the disinfection fluid The container for the disinfection fluid is located behind the opening of the left side cover of the tub Page, picture No. 8 Adjusting of the disinfection quantity The quantity of disinfection fluid is pre-set according to the preferred amount given by the disinfection fluid producer and based on an average water pressure. In case the consumption seems to be too high or low, the quantity can be adjusted. Please call United Patient Care Product Service for assistance. Refilling of shampoo and bathing ingredients The container for the shampoo and bathing ingredients are located behind the opening of the right side cover of the tub. Page, Picture 1 No. 10 Cleaning /Disinfection of the reservoir The reservoir has a smooth inside and a declined drainage. This ensures that no water will remain in the reservoir after opening the valve. For cleaning and disinfecting of the reservoir the top cover can be removed. Page 5, Picture No. 1. Please obey that the fill indicator rope also must be removed. 12 Bathing system Patriot Detail Air jet system control Stand by - ready for use: The light (a) indicates the stand by of the system. ON/OFF-button ( 1 ): By pushing this button the system shuts on or off. The blower starts smoothly up to medium power. During the operation the LED (b) is lit. Plus - button ( ): For increasing the power output of the blower, keep the button pushed until the whirl power reaches the desired intensity. While pushing this button the LED (c) is lit. Minus - button ( ): For decreasing the power output of the blower, keep the button pushed until the whirl power decreases to the desired intensity. While pushing this button the LED (d) is lit. Interval : For activating the interval function, push, while the blower is running, the button & simultaneously. Thereby the intensity of the blower is changing perodically between upper and lower level. After activating this function the period is 0 sec. By pushing the button, the period can be adjusted down to 10 sec. By pushing the button, the period can be adjusted up to 0 sec. During this modulation the LED s (c) and (d) indicates the direction up or down. Dryblowing 5 Minutes after stopping the system, the system starts again automatically for a period of 0 sec. to blow the hoses/jets dry. During the waiting period for this dry-blowing the LED (b) is flashing. The automatic dry blowing can be shut off by manual pushing any button. Determination of the upper blower intensity: Start the system by pushing button 1. Adjust the intensity up to the desired level. For saving this intensity please push button 1& simultaneously. The adjusted level will be saved. For deleting this level, please push again the two buttons simultaneously. In case of power failure, the levels will be automatically return to the pre-set values. Determination of the lower blower intensity.: Start the system by pushing button 1. Adjust the intensity down to the desired level. For saving this intensity please push button 1& simultaneously. The adjusted level will be saved. For deleting this level, please push again the two buttons simultaneously. In case of power failure, the levels will be automatically return to the pre-set values. Automatical shut-off: 0 minutes after the last button has been pushed, the system shuts off automatically. Thereby it is assured that the system does not run constantly without any control. Security shut-off: If a button is pushed longer than 0 sec. (Obstacle is on the panel) the system shuts off automatically. After the obstacle has been removed the system is ready for use again. Automatic blower intensity control: In case of blocked jets (dirt, etc.) The blower automatically reduces its power for avoiding any overheating. LED-lights a Picture 1 b c d ON OFF 1 Page 1 Techn. Please never use those detergents for cleaning the fittings and valves. Bathing ingredients Please never use ingredients which are made of herbal concentrates. These ingredients can change the color of your tub. ATTENTION The changing of the color can not be removed. It does NOT destroy the function and surface of the tub - it only changes the color! Recommended time frame for the Air-jet system: At a water temperature between C, time period 10-0 Minutes.
