1 BLOCK 2 COUNSELOR PROGRAM DESCRIPTION (TRACK B) Overview The Counselor 600 program includes a comprehensive Ayurveda education that focuses on Ayurveda principles of maintaining good health, and, prevention of imbalances through use of holistic Nutrition protocols, daily and seasonal routines, yoga therapy practices, Herbal protocols and meditation. This program requires 10 case studies under supervision with 2-4 follow ups done by the student. The Counselor 600 program starts where the foundation course leaves off. We continue to focus on Svastha Vritta - Ayurveda principles of maintaining good health, and, prevention of imbalances through use of Ahara and Vihara - holistic Nutrition protocols, daily and seasonal routines, yoga therapy practices, Herbal protocols and meditation. Along with this we add comprehensive modules of Ayurvedic Anatomy (kriya Sharira), Nidana (Ayurvedic Etiology) and Cikitsa (Ayurvedic Protocols) as well as Atura Vritta. (Ayurvedic Principles of correcting Vyadhis or imbalances Scope of this course: An Ayurvedic Counselor should be able to holistically assess doshic imbalances in men and women, manasa imbalances related to Tamas and Rajas, dhatu imbalances of rasa especially in women, rakta and mamsa (using the knowledge of at least one of these holistic feedback mechanisms-- marma, trividha or ashtavidha pariksha), Agni imbalances. Based on the biofeedback, the Ayurvedic counselor may be able to suggest Ahara, Vihara, and Simple Dravya for these imbalances. Pre- Requisite - Block 1 Foundation Track B 150 Hours*. How Long does this course take? The course is made up of four semesters of apx 3.5 months each. First semester is Block Hrs. That leaves 3 semesters of 3.5 months each and the student finishes the rest of 450 Hours in the Block 2. And, if a student drops out after a semester -- He or she is still eligible for a diploma based on the course completed. Please note that a student must finish their Block 1 in order

2 to enroll and be accepted by the college faculty into this program. This program is 90% online and requires internship/externship. If you are not able to make it to the mandatory workshop due to travel issues, this can be bypassed on case by case basis.** * Those who graduated Block 1 with 100 Hours must make up the extra 50 Hours. ** If you have previous skill or knowledge through a NAMA approved institution for a core subject, or, elective--you can bypass some classes, or travel for the onsite workshops. How does Block 2 Counselor Training delivery work? Courses required for Block 2 Counselor- The Block 2 course training for Counselor program is delivered through 1. Home Study (Elective) and Distant Learning. (Pre recorded classes and material may be provided) 2. Classes taken online on Webex, and, accessed through our LMS are usually Core Courses. 3. Student will be able to list and explain rasa, virya, vipaka, prabhava of at least two Dravya each for Manasa disorders of tamas, nidranasha etc, for Vata, Pitta and Kapha, for Mandagni, Tikshnagni and at least 2 dravya for Rasa Dhatu, Rakta Dhatu and Mamsa Dhatu, pranavaha srotas, as well as ama.

7 Nidan 101: Hetus, Six stages of Imbalances, Cikitsa 101, Onsite workshop and some classes from onsite workshops repeated online. (See below) Onsite workshops: Marma workshop, Women Support Workshop, Prenatal and Post Partum Support, Nidan Trividha Pariksha (Three fold assessment darshanam, sparshanam and prashanam), Nadi Pariksha and Jihva Pariksha. For those unable to attend the course, all course materials are provided. Electives Home Study. No Tests. Some pre recorded classes available. Sanskrit 101 and Sanskrit Focus is on pronounciation, enuncation of Ayurvedic Jargon and Glossary, as well as understanding Sutras. Sanskrit 101 is a basic list of Ayurvedic Glossary. Sanskrit 201 focusses on Yoga, Bhagavad Gita, and pronunciation as well as sutras from Ayurveda Texts. Besides Sanskrit in Block 1 Material, we will also focus on working knowledge of Sanskrit in context of Ayurvedic Textbooks like Caraka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita and Astanga Hridaya. Focus on Source text meanings and we will introduce them to elements of Sanskrit as we go along. Portion of this course is used with Yoga Therapy Home Study Module, and, other with Bhagavad Gita. (Common modules) Yoga Therapy 101: Home Study Module. Portion of this course has common modules with Sanskrit 201 and Bhagavad Gita. Focus on Pranayama, and Meditation. Vastu and Jyotish 101: Introduction to Principles of Vastu and Jyotish from Michal Mastros book on Vastu Meditation 101: See Yoga Therapy 101, Bhagavad Gita and Manasa 101.
