The motion was approved Graduate Certificate in Business Intelligence and Analytics new program ISQA 520 Introduction to Business Intelligence and Analytics, 4 credits new course ISQA 521 Analytics Communication and Management, 2 credits new course Robinson presented an overview of the certificate and her panel s questions. She said the proposal seemed to contain less information and was not as fleshed out as other certificate proposals GC has reviewed. There was discussion on this point and agreement that more information needs to be added re: program demand. There are also errors that need to be corrected. There was a question about the thoroughness of the library statement. Petit said she felt it was adequate, however the suggestion was made that as an interdisciplinary program, a statement from the SBA librarian was not sufficient. GC would like the unit to contact Michael Bowman, the subject librarian for engineering, data management, and math, for an additional statement. The abbreviation CERT BA is used to describe this program, but it was noted that this suggests a bachelor s degree. GC would like to see the proposal (and other materials; websites, etc.) use a different abbreviation; one suggestion was Grad Cert BIA. Robinson will take the proposal back to the unit for revision. ISQA 520 Introduction to Business Intelligence and Analytics, 4 credits new course ISQA 521 Analytics Communication and Management, 2 credits new course It was moved (Robinson) and seconded (Anderson) to approve these two proposals. The motion was approved College of Urban and Public Affairs Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Food Systems new program PA 574 Food and Agriculture Policy, 3 credits new course PHE 527 Food Systems and Public Health, 3 credits new course Robinson presented an overview of the certificate and her panel s questions. The library statement addressed larger, systemic library issues that are beyond the scope of this program proposal; Robinson asked GC for input. GC discussed these issues and, while acknowledging that there are some serious concerns, concluded that GC is not the appropriate venue for these larger library issues to be worked out. The statement did say that the library has the information resources to support this graduate certificate. The proposal was accompanied by a Memorandum of Agreement regarding the administration of this interdisciplinary program. The MoA only addressed the first three years; Robinson asked if this was sufficient.
7 Everett said that there were considerable discussions about where this program should be housed, and while agreement has only been reached for the first three years, the three Deans involved are committed to the longterm success of this program and making any necessary adjustment in the future. The proposer will be invited to a future meeting to give an overview of the certificate. PA 574 Food and Agriculture Policy, 3 credits new course PHE 527 Food Systems and Public Health, 3 credits new course It was moved (Perlmutter) and seconded (Anderson) to approve these two proposals. The motion was approved The meeting was adjourned at 1:02 p.m.
