3 You should apply to a mix of: Target / Match Schools Reach Schools Safety Schools Check to see if the colleges you are applying to are appropriate based on your GPA and standardized test scores. Naviance is a great resource for checking on any college s average GPA and test scores. If you need help adding schools to your list, please see your counselor!

8 Naviance edocs Checklist Check in with teachers about your letters of recommendation Turn in your Student Profile and Parent Brag Sheet to your counselor Send SAT and/or ACT scores to college admissions offices Register for a Common Application account at - this is an essential link to the Naviance system Complete all transcript requests on Naviance Family Connection In addition, please complete a paper copy of the Transcript Request Form and hand deliver it to the guidance office

9 Requesting a Transcript on Naviance Log into Naviance Family Connection. If you have any questions about logging in, please see your counselor. Click on the Colleges tab Click on transcripts on the left side of the page Click Request transcripts for my college applications Look up the college or university you are requesting the transcript for and then select the application type (regular, early action, early decision, etc) Click the Request Transcripts button You will see confirmation numbers listed which means you have completed the process.

11 Financial Aid Starting in January 2016, you should fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by going to this site: On the same site prior to January, you can use the FAFSA4caster tool to get an estimate of what your financial aid package will look like. SAVE THE DATE! The guidance department will be hosting a Financial Aid Information Program on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 7:00pm at Hanover Park High School.
