4 Students are responsible for: Accessing and reading ALL information on Family Connection Registering for college visits at EHS in their Family Connection account, if applicable. Completing college applications. Signing into the Common Application website and creating an account, if applying to a college that uses the Common Application. Submitting SAT and ACT scores directly to the colleges by their specified deadlines. Requesting transcripts and letters of recommendation by logging into Family Connection. Regardless of electronic submission, transcript and recommendation requests require a minimum of 15 school days to process. If requests are received less than 15 days before the college application deadline, we will not guarantee that the deadline will be met. Notifying the Counseling Office through the Family Connection account when decisions are received from the colleges.

8 Pay attention to the icons next to the colleges you have applied to Postage stamp = mail, students MUST give teachers college addressed, stamped envelope if requesting letter(s) of recommendation Computer Screen = available to send electronically using institution s application Computer Screen with CA and says Yes(CA Exclusive) = available to send electronically using Common Application Computer Screen with CA and says Unknown = student MUST indicate whether they are applying via Common Application for EHS to be able to send transcript

9 Students must complete the FERPA waiver in the Common App account before requesting supporting documents through Naviance. To do this, students must: Add a school or schools to the colleges list Fill out the education section of the application Fill out the FERPA wavier on the My Colleges tab

10 If your student is applying via Common App, he/she MUST link their Family Connection account to his/her Common App account

11 Students are required to first contact teachers in person to request a letter of recommendation To link teachers to their Family Connection accounts, students must send Thank You Notes to teachers requesting a letter of recommendation It is very important to note that students MUST delineate which school(s) each teacher should send his/her letter to in the Thank You note. If students add more schools after the initial request to their teacher, they must inform the teacher about the additional school(s). Otherwise, teachers WILL NOT know they need to submit to additional schools.

13 Click on the colleges tab. Then click to view all upcoming college visits. You will be brought to the page below.

14 Students will receive an confirmation 24 hours prior to the college visit. This will serve as their pass. Students will not be admitted without printed confirmation.

15 Once students receive an admissions decision, they must indicate the result on this page in Family Connection. This is not optional.
