5 Is the BC Level 1 General Insurance Licensing Kit Right for Me? BC Level 1 General Insurance Licensing Kit This program is recommended for newcomers to the industry who have not yet made a definite career commitment. It is also for those employed in insurer, agency, broker, or adjuster offices in junior or support positions who want an overview of the insurance industry but with some detail about actual coverage s and related claims routines. This program should also be considered by those who have been away from the education process for some time and are looking for an entry-level program to start their insurance education. Successful graduates of the program will also be eligible to apply to the Insurance Institute of Canada to receive one credit (equivalent to C11 Principles and Practice of Insurance) towards their CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) designation, should they decide to continue their studies. The BC Level 1 General Insurance Licensing program is used in BC to obtain a broker/agent or adjuster level 1 license. The BC Level 1 Licensing Course is different than the Insurance Institute of Canada GIE program.
