2 Flexibility HiPath 2000 puts an end to parallel networks for voice and data. Companies that invest today in an efficient IP infrastructure are well equipped to fully exploit the possibilities of IP communication and are ready to take advantage of cost-effective access to Internet telephony service providers. HiPath 2000 is a modern communication system that combines voice and data transmission within a single solution. This Linux-based real-time IP system can be used in small and medium-sized companies with up to 30 employees, in a wide range of industry sectors. Integrating mobile employees and teleworkers into the communications infrastructure is an important prerequisite for streamlining business processes. HiPath 2000 is a secure and reliable communication system for Voice-over-IP and is based on a solid and efficient IP infrastructure. The integrated gateway is the interface between LAN/WAN and traditional exchange circuits, and routing functionality sets up the connection to the Internet for both data traffic and Internet telephony. HiPath 2000 has a range of security features protecting against system failure and eavesdropping. Thanks to open standards support, HiPath 2000 is extremely flexible with regard to integration into business applications. HiPath 2000 provides pure IP technology and features high-quality telephones with intuitive user operation (via a display and dialog keys), PC clients for any modern working environment, and Wireless LAN devices. Analog devices can also be connected to this real-time IP system where necessary. A wide range of voice telephony features combined with applications such as CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) and integrated Voic guarantee support for all aspects of professional communication. And HiPath 2000 s userfriendly executive-secretary function ensures the smooth flow of communication at attendant or secretary stations in the reception area, where multiple communications processes converge. Integrated call distribution ensures that staff can be reached and guarantees fast customer contact. This makes telephony not only simpler and more efficient, but also customer-friendly. SIP the standard for Internet telephony HiPath 2000 supports all the exciting new options that the SIP protocol brings with it. Whether SIP terminals or subscriber and system connections for Internet telephony - it represents a new dimension in flexible communication. As an open and standard protocol, SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) fulfills the requirements for interoperability between systems and devices from different manufacturers. Intelligent use of the available bandwidths for both voice and data leads to a better utilization of the Internet connection. Quality of Service (QoS) always gives priority to voice communication, and the codecs that are used guarantee the highest transmission quality. Mixed operation involving both traditional exchange circuits and xdsl network connections and the scalability of the voice bandwidth network make SIP-based communication sufficiently flexible to exploit new services offered by carriers. Real-time and multimedia services such as voice, video, instant messaging, or presence services provide increased transparency about who is available, and when, and via which terminal device. The secure company connection Employees voice and data applications can be fully integrated into the company network, whether they are working from home or are on the move. Modern security mechanisms such as integrated VPN (Virtual Private Network) ensure that employees working via the Internet have a secure connection. Confidential information can thus be accessed at any time and from anywhere in the world. An integrated firewall protects the voice and data network against unauthorized external access. Another important advantage for mobile workers is that they can be reached at their company number regardless of where they are currently located, at reasonable cost and over a tapproof connection. Reduced costs A high-performance IP infrastructure means that voice and data communication can be combined within a single network. The integration of a router and gateway in one and the same system also optimizes hardware costs. The fact that no separate voice network has to be set up and maintained reduces the administrative necessary for systems and applications. And existing Internet connections can be utilized in a more economic fashion by also using them for calls to the public network. The costs for separate traditional exchange circuit lines can be reduced to a minimum, using them solely as back-up lines or for fax or TeleCash purposes. Exploiting Least Cost Routing via traditional exchange circuits and several Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSP), companies can implement applications that lower call costs considerably. Flexible configuration HiPath 2000 is highly flexible with regard to the number of subscribers. Telephones are connected to existing LAN cables ("onewire-to-the-desk") and connected to the PC via the integrated mini-switch. This means that the system can be connected to the circuit-switched traditional exchange network and is also suitable for packet-switched (LAN/WAN) environments. It also means that a step-by-step migration to present or future Internet telephony services is possible.
3 Telephones optipoint The idea choice for any requirement, with expansion modules, adapters, and accessories (such as a headset), and the flexibility to meet the needs of each individual employee. A soft client installed on the desktop computer or notebook provides all telephone functions via WLAN - and offers the same familiar interface at the office and on the move. 4 The HiPath 2000 scenario in overview HiPath 2000 offers a wide range of connection options, both to the public telephone network and on the user side. The traditional exchange circuit connection can be utilized in parallel with connections to Internet telephony service providers (ISP/ITSP). Conventional analog phones or devices such as fax machines and door openers can be used as terminals. Additional analog adapters can also be employed. All types of IP devices can be connected to the LAN interface via the external switch, which also supplies these devices with the necessary power (Power-over-Ethernet). In combination with additional WLAN base stations, wireless communication is also possible, for both voice and data applications, for example by using a WLAN phone or an opticlient 130 installed on a notebook. IP telephones with integrated miniswitches offer a high level of convenience; PCs can be smoothly integrated into an existing LAN infrastructure via the "one wire to the desk" concept. The Internet interface for voice and data communication is protected by a firewall. An server can be set up on the DMZ port, isolated from the rest of the internal company infrastructure, for forwarding incoming mails to the respective recipient. 5 Extending the infrastructure IP Networking HiPath 2000 can also be networked with other HiPath systems. Here the data network is also used for voice communication between the sites. This means that applications installed on central servers can also be used in branches with HiPath And many features and switching functions are available for use at all connected sites. HiPath Wireless HiPath 2000 also relies fully on IP technology for mobile communication. Up to 10 separate WLAN access points can be directly connected to the LAN. This guarantees full voice and data communication coverage for WLAN telephony, with roaming and handover. Administration Web-Based Management (WBM) All standard administration and maintenance functions have been integrated into the HiPath 2000 system, and require no expert knowledge. They can be accessed via Web-Based Management (standard browser). HiPath 2000 Manager This software provides the service technician with an expert tool for administration. It includes all setup, maintenance, backup and diagnostic functions, and can also be used via a remote access. Licensing HiPath 2000 is highly flexible with regard to increasing the number of subscribers. New telephones are simply connected to the LAN and, once the license has been activated, the new user has access to all functions. The upgrade from HiPath 2000 V1.0 to V2 is licensed. HiPath 2000 plus applications the perfect system It only requires a few of the wide range of applications available to turn the real-time IP system into a tailor-made company solution. Fixed Mobile Convenience Fixed Mobil Convenience is the integration of GSM cell phone users into the communication environment of the HiPath system. The busy lamp field with 90 programmable LED function keys is an additional module for optipoint Attendant. The opticlient Attendant software package simulates an enhanced attendant console on a PC s screen. All functions can be activated and executed via the PC keyboard and mouse. HiPath ComAssistant HiPath ComAssistant is a server-based CTI solution for the intranet. Software is installed and configured centrally on the server. This ensures the quick and easy distribution of data via the intranet. XPhone Entry XPhone Entry is the application for the CTI sector (Computer Telephony Integration). It is ideally suited to workstations using CTI as a universal communications or organizational tool HiPath TAPI 120 and HiPath CAP This driver software was developed for connecting a PC to digital system telephones on HiPath. CTI applications conforming to TAPI are integrated in this way. Supported CTI applications are: HiPath Simply Phone for Outlook and Lotus Notes, and HiPath ComAssistant. TeleData Office Calculates the costs of all communication services (telephone, fax, Internet) and enables analysis according to extension, network connection or department. Via the LAN interface, the call data can be transmitted directly to a central server for recording purposes.
