PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE A. Administrative 2014 Present Dean, School of Arts and Humanities, College of Saint Rose, Albany, NY The School of Arts and Humanities of The College of Saint Rose is comprised of 7 academic departments offering 22 undergraduate and 7 graduate degree programs in the traditional humanities, fine and commercial arts, and education. The School also offers over 50% of the Liberal Education course requirements of the College. The departments within the School of Arts and Humanities include (1) the Center for Art & Design, (2) the Department of Communications, (3) the Department of English, (4) the Department of History and Political Science, (5) the Department of Music, (6) the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, and (7) the Department of World Languages and Cultures.

2 Bynum: Curriculum Vita 2 As Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities, I serve as the chief academic, fiscal, administrative officer of the School and report to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs. I have the responsibility for all aspects of curriculum planning and development, faculty and staff evaluation and development, budget and facilities. Additionally, I am responsible for setting priorities, policies and budgets for the School, working closely with faculty, staff, administrators, and students; sustaining an environment of academic excellence; providing encouragement and support for academic research; building and maintaining close relationships with alumni and the community; and generating external funding Dean, College of Arts and Humanities, Albany State University, Albany, Georgia ASU s College of Arts and Humanities consisted of six departments: (1) Behavioral Sciences; (2) English, Modern Languages, and Mass Communication; (3) Fine Arts; (4) History and Political Science; (5) Social Work; and (6) Public Administration. Through these six departments, the College offered 12 baccalaureate degrees and four Masters degrees. The College also offered and still offers the majority of the Core courses belonging to the University s General Education curriculum. Similarly to my current position, as Dean of ASU s College of Arts and Humanities, I served as the chief academic, fiscal, administrative officer of the College reporting to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs. And until assuming my current position I maintained a small, very select private voice studio and I directed one production of opera workshop annually. Barnett Foundation Scholarship Fund, named after its sponsor, which provides up to 10 (ten) $ scholarships annually to outstanding music majors. VIII. 12 Bynum: Curriculum Vita Carmen (Don Jose) by George Bizet Meridian Symphony Orchestra, Meridian, Mississippi 2007 Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings, by Benjamin Britten Albany Symphony Orchestra, Albany, GA 2006 Concert Vocal Literature by African-American Composers, Lecture Recital, Federale Institucion di Bahia, Salvadore, Brazil O Freedom: The African-American Spiritual, Lecture Recital, Teatro Villa Lobos, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil Opera Directing Activities Director of the ASU Opera Theater Workshop This by audition ensemble prepares and performs operatic literature appropriate for the voice types and abilities of the students, and mounts one major production annually, either of a complete opera or operatic scenes. These productions are normally fully staged, with costumes, sets, and orchestral accompaniment. The ensemble also performs annually for area 5 th graders through the ASU Opera to the Schools Program. Each year, fifth graders from surrounding counties are brought onto campus for morning showing of that year s operatic production. Past productions include: 2013 Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss 2012 Carmen by George Bizet 2011 Trial, By Jury by Gilbert and Sullivan 2010 Drama of Operatic Proportion!: Scenes from Opera s Most Beloved Tragedies 2009 Bastien e Bastienne by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell 2008 So this is Opera!: Scenes from Operas You Didn t Know You Knew

13 Bynum: Curriculum Vita The Medium by Gian Carlo Menotti 2006 A Hand of Bridge by Samuel Barber and The Impressario by Mozart Choral Conducting Activities Director of the Albany State University Concert Chorale, an international award winning choral ensemble that has performed extensively throughout the United States and Europe: 2004 European Concert Tour to Scotland, Wales, England 2001 European Concert Tour to Spain and Portugal 2000 Concert Tour to Montreal and Ottawa, Canada 1999 Concert Tour to Hungary, Austria and France 1997 Concert Tour to the Czech Republic and Germany Conductor of the Abraham Baldwin College Singers, a select group of 16 that performed a variety of chamber choir literature from Medieval to Modern Directed the Abraham Baldwin College Show Choir, "Sound Sensations" Conductor of the Tift-Area Community Chorus. This group of 100 plus singers performed extended works from all periods of music history New Life Presbyterian Church, Leesburg, Florida Director of Music. Duties included conducting the Chancel, Youth Choir, and Handbell Choirs Conductor of the Lake-Sumter College Singers, a select ensemble of 16 singers. This award winning group performed a wide variety of choral literature and enjoyed vast popularity throughout the state and region. The College Singers received international praise on their European Concert Tour, May Directed the Lake-Sumter Community Chorus, a group of 100 plus singers that performed a variety of choral literature from show tunes to extended classical works
