7 St. Bernard academy Admissions Process Application Submit Application, along with $75 application fee to Admissions Office. Receipt of application initiates the application process. Acknowledgement of receipt will be ed. Applications received by the first Friday in January will be given first priority consideration. Recommendations Deliver Teacher Recommendation Form to current or recent teacher. The Recommendation should be mailed to the Admissions Office by the author of the form. Personal Recommendation(s) are not form-based and can be mailed or ed to the Admissions Office. Recommendations can be made by family friends, neighbors, current SBA families, SBA alumni, board members or anyone with familiarity with the applicant and family. Records/Transcripts (if applicable) Complete the Records Release Form and give to your child s current school to submit a copy of his or her current report card and a copy of the previous two year s final grades and standardized test results. Testing Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten applicants will be tested on the first Saturday in February at St. Bernard Academy. Applicants entering 1st through 4th grades will be given admissions testing at St. Bernard Academy. Applicants entering 5th through 8th grades must register to take the ISEE examination for admission. Online registration can be found at St. Bernard Academy code: Placement testing for Math and English will be given to newly enrolled 5th through 8th grade students during July and August, prior to the beginning of school. Student Shadow Days Students applying for 1st through 8th grades must shadow for one full school day at St. Bernard Academy. Shadow dates should be scheduled with the Admissions Office once applications are complete. Decision Letters Acceptance letters will be mailed on the last Friday in February to accepted students. Applications received after the admissions timeline will be considered on a rolling basis and will also be subject to grade level availability. Enrollment Enrollment contracts will be due in March along with a non-refundable $500 enrollment fee which will be deducted from the following school year s tuition. Also due upon enrollment are a copy of a birth certificate, completed health/immunization form from your child s pediatrician, baptismal certificate (if your child is Catholic), and a current photograph. 6
