The Mobile Recreation Program (MRP) is a free drop in program providing safe and fun school activities for children ages 10 and up. Disability Services Offers support services for persons with disabilities, their families, and caregivers, who live or work in Irvine; social and recreational programs for 14+, adaptive yoga, swim lesson, Inclusion & Accommodation services, resource and referrals, disability awareness events and training, access reporting and Irvine Residents with Disabilities Advisory Broad (IRDAB). 3
6 FOR Families Program Provides information and short-term support to individuals, couples and families living or working in Irvine who need assistance identifying and accessing needed services and resources. Our focus is on supporting the well-being of our community members. Irvine Children s Health Program (I-CHP) Provides assistance to income eligible families to access affordable quality health care for their children. The City of Irvine, in partnership with the Children s Health Initiative of Orange County (CHI OC) are here to assist income eligible families enroll into 5 programs: MediCal, Healthy Families, California Kids, Kaiser Child Plan and/or Healthy Kids. Each of the 5 programs has different requirements, eligibility criteria and availability. Senior Services Lake Senior Center: Rancho Senior Center: Offers a variety of programs, activities and services for adults age 50 and older; including classes, lectures, games, volunteer opportunities, lunch program, fitness activities, special events, and an on-site resource center providing consultation and assistance services for older adults. TRIPS Programs Provides a low-cost, door-to-door, wheelchair accessible transportation service to qualified Irvine residents age 18 and older who are unable to drive due to a permanent physical and/or cognitive disability. Pre-registration and eligibility determination required. Youth Wellness Committee Brings healthy living awareness to each of the Irvine Unified School District high schools through this collaborative program which is solely driven by high school students. COASTLINE REGIONAL OCCUPATIONAL PROGRAM (ROP) Presidio Square, Costa Mesa, CA Website: Service Area: Irvine, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Tustin, and Saddleback Valley area Coastline ROP is a career and technical education (CTE) provider that prepares both high school students and adults for a wide range of careers and further educational opportunities. Placements are based on the family s needs. Services include case management, support programs and rental subsidies. In addition to our Housing Program, we also offer low cost counseling, free career workshops, and food assistance to qualifying individuals and families in our service area. GET SAFE Edinger Ave, Tustin, CA Website: Service Area: Southern California GET SAFE provides personal safety training for people of all ages and abilities through its fun, highly interactive violence prevention, crisis intervention and recovery programs (bullying prevention, selfdefense, workplace/school safety, active shooter response, and more). HEALTHY SMILES FOR KIDS OF ORANGE COUNTY Chapman Avenue, Suite 200, Garden Grove, CA Website: Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County is the leading provider of oral care, prevention, and education 5
8 for more than 30,000 children annually. Children are treated at the Smile Center in Garden Grove, the Smile Clinic at CHOC Children s Hospital of Orange County, and two Smile Mobiles which travel to community locations and schools with a large population of low-income students. Healthy Smiles is one of the county s only resources for dentistry treatment under sedation for children with special medical and behavioral needs. Services are available at our two fixed locations in Tustin and Santa Ana and on our mobile sites that travel throughout Orange County. ILLUMINATION FOUNDATION Katella Ave., Stanton, CA Website: Illumination Foundation is an organization dedicated to ending the cycle of homelessness in Orange County. We provide housing, case management, work force development, medical, and after-school tutoring programs for homeless families. Through volunteers and staff, the Public Law Center provides fee civil legal services, including counseling, individual representation, community education, and strategic litigation and advocacy to challenge societal injustices. Now in its 31st year of service, PLC works with nearly 1,200 volunteer lawyers, paralegals and law students from throughout the county who volunteer their time and expertise. 16 7TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY RESOURCE FAIR Families Forward created the Community Resource Fair with Irvine Valley College and the City of Irvine to bring agencies and services directly to our neighbors in need. Through collaboration with area agencies and service providers, Families Forward brings the community together to help families in need look forward to a brighter future. OUR MISSION AND VALUES Families Forward exists to help families in need achieve and maintain self-sufficiency through housing, food, counseling, education and other support services. At Families Forward we are committed to providing services to local families in crisis in concert with our values of dignity, empowerment, accountability, community spirit and hope. OUR PROGRAMS Housing Program helps homeless and imminently homeless families with minor age children regain stable housing. Through partnerships with local apartment communities and Families Forward s housing resources, families who have lost their housing are able to access more affordable rental housing. Families may receive rental subsidizes to give them time to regain their self-sufficiency. Supportive services for families in this program may include counseling, food, medical and dental assistance, and career coaching. Following a stabilization period, families move into permanent housing or stay in their apartment homes if they choose. Homeless Prevention provides low-income families and individuals with access to necessary services to help them maintain their stability, including: food assistance, counseling and employment coaching.
