2 These two European study days, organised at the initiative of the FRAC Basse-Normandie, will address the question of what is really at stake in the various measures for art education and mediation in contemporary art and how they effect the way art is received, different types of exhibition and the implication of the artists themselves. These study days are part of the TIME & PLACE art project, which has received the support of the European programme INTERREG IV A France (Manche) - England, co-financed by the FEDER. Since 2009, he has been in charge of the Visual Arts department at HEAD-Genève. In this capacity, he runs LiveInYourHead, a curatorial institute and exhibition space, as well as Fieldwork, which is a research and residential programme based in Geneva, Nantes and Marfa (Texas, USA). 1:45 pm 3 pm / A PORTRAIT OF THE ARTIST AS A PEDAGOGUE Alain KERLAN Alain Kerlan is a philosopher and a professor at Université Lumière Lyon 2, where he was the director of the Institut des Sciences et des Pratiques d Education et de Formation (ISPEF) from 2008 to He works at the crossroads of philosophy and pedagogy, art and education, combining sociology and educational philosophy.

WHAT ROLE CAN THE ARTIST PLAY IN THE PRODUCTION AND EXCHANGE OF KNOWLEDGES? MICROSILLONS, Olivier Desvoignes and Marianne Guarino-Huet Founded in 2005 in Geneva by Marianne Guarino-Huet and Olivier Desvoignes, the Microsillons collective develops collaborative art projects opening a reflexion about the citizen and social role of art and calling for the use of critical pedagogies in cultural practices. The collection collaborated with many cultural institutions, in Switzerland and internationally, including the Centre d art Le 116 (Montreuil), VANSA (Johannesburg), WYSPA Institute (Gdansk) or the Centre d art Contemporain in Genève.
