Parents wishing to have their child seen at any of these clinics require a referral. NOTE: New referrals are taken from birth to date of 16th birthday. Young people who are ongoing patients of SCH are seen until they transition to an adult service - usually when they leave school and/or are 18 years old. Inpatient, outpatient and outreach services are NP*, Medical, available to anyone who has had an acquired brain injury. Case Referrals also accepted for all school-aged clients. Management State Brain Tumour Rehabilitation Service++ Burns Dressing/Scar Management SCH Weekly A multidisciplinary team of Allied Health professionals who provide a comprehensive rehabilitation program for children with brain tumours following discharge from hospital. SP, PT, PS*, OT, NP*, State (Interstate for those who have received treatment from SCH or POWPH) SCH OP Weekly Burns dressing and scar management. PT,. PL* SESLHD Cardiology SCH OP Weekly Consultative, diagnostic and procedural services for children with congenital and acquired heart diseases. Centre for Children's Cancer & Blood Disorders++ C2 NORTH 3 clinics/ Investigation and treatment of haematological disorders (thalassemia, haemophilia and other bleeding disorders, thrombosis, anaemia and neutropenia), cancer including brain tumours and diseases requiring bone marrow transplantation. 2 Centre for Children's Cancer & Blood Disorders (Long-term f/u) C2 NORTH Monthly Patients with at least 5 years of treatment for haematological disorders, cancer and diseases requiring bone marrow transplantation. PS*, N&D, State Cerebral Palsy++ Cerebral Palsy Orthopaedic/Hip surveillance Cerebral Palsy Multidisciplinary Clinic SCH OP 2 clinics/ 2 clinics/ Bimonthly A specialised clinic to address the health and well-being of children with Cerebral Palsy. Primary point of contact and referral for all clients with CP. Hip surveillance provides regular screening of children with Cerebral Palsy in order to help prevent hip dislocations. The Orthopaedic services provides specialist therapy for children having Single Event Multilevel Orthopaedic Surgery. Combined orthopaedic and rehab clinic providing specialist review and consultation for children with cerebral palsy considered orthopaedic intervention. PT, OT, SP, OR, N&D, PS*, SW PT, OR*, OT*, PT, OR*, OT*, Cleft Lip & Palate SCH OP Fortnightly Consultation and management. SP, Plastics, ENT, Genetics, Dentistry, Orthodontics Cranio-facial SCH OP Fortnightly Assessment and treatment of abnormalities of the skull and face. Cystic Fibrosis SCH OP Weekly To provide diagnostic consultative multidisciplinary ongoing care. OR, PT, State PT, N&D, PS*, State Diabetes SCH OP Weekly Nutrition assessment and management of diabetes. N&D State Dietician General Outpatient SCH OP Weekly General nutrition assessment and management including vitamin and mineral deficiency, failure to thrive, constipation, vegetarian, cultural diversity, anaemia and iron deficiency. N&D SESLHD & Northern Eating disorders SCH OP Weekly Nutrition assessment and management of eating disorders. N&D State Endocrine SCH OP Weekly Evaluation and treatment of endocrinological disorders in children and adolescents. Consultation and/or long term management of diabetes mellitus in children and adolescents. SW, N&D, PS* State Epidermolysis Bullosa - SCH OP Monthly Interdisciplinary assessment and support for children with Dr Moran Epidermolysis Bullosa (cotton wool babies). Feeding SCH OP Weekly Assessment and management of infants and children with feeding and swallowing disorders affecting growth and nutrition. Inlcudes infants receiving enteral feeds. 3 Genetics SCH OP 6 clinics/ Diagnostic service including General Genetic, Metabolic Genetic, Specialised Genetic clinics (cardiac, connective tissue, neurometabolic) and genetic services to multidisciplinary clinics including tuberous sclerosis, neuromuscular, cystic fibrosis, hearing support, cleft palate, craniofacial, epidermolysis bullosa, limb management. Emotional support to families as well as information on resources in an impartial manner. Services inlcude all aspects of HIV treatment, prevention, counselling, advocacy, case management and education. 4 Orthopaedic SCH Daily Consultative, non-operative and operative management of all traumatic, acute or elective conditions affecting the musculo-skeletal system in the growing child. PT, OT, OR*, Pain SCH OP Fortnightly A comprehensive service which offers consultation and management in all forms of children's pain including acute and chronic pain management. Information and referral service regarding all aspects of children's pain. PT, OT, PL, PS*, State Plastics/ Hand SCH OP Weekly Consultative, non-operative and operative management of a wide variety of deformities in children, including birth defects and deformities due to trauma, cancer and disease. Assessment and management of hand injuries. PT, PL, OT* Renal SCH OP 2 clinics/ Medical & AH management of acute and chronic renal conditions, including end-stage kidney disease requiring dialysis and/or transplantation. Respiratory SCH OP Weekly Consultative, diagnostic and ongoing care for chronic respiratory problems in children. Rheumatology SCH OP Weekly Medical and AH management of juvenile arthritis, lupus, dermatomyositis, vasculitis and a variety of other inflammatory, pain and musculoskeletal conditions. Spina Bifida - Dr Scarf SCH OP Fortnightly Provides a comprehensive and coordinated multidisciplinary service to children with neural tube defects.
