3 psychologists, special education psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, teacher trainers, adult trainers Key words: Special education, special educational needs, disabilities, clinical symptomatology, rehabilitation methods, school/educational counselling, music therapy Objectives: The main objectives of the course are: - To learn about musical instruments used in music therapy - To teach conceptual delimitation of terms related with music therapy and its principles - To establish objectives for music therapy sessions according to different target groups - To describe music therapy sessions adequate to different symptomatology and fields - To use music therapy session evaluation and monitoring tools - To work on specific problems and limits of music therapy Methodology: The training course will have an important practical component. Theoretical concepts will be taught via Power Point Presentations and practical demonstration of trainers, structured on 11 modules. The group will repeatedly split out in smaller groups and fulfill practical task, in order to actively learn to implement music therapy. This tasks will be part of evaluation portfolio of the trainees and also allow them to show their abilities and experience one by one the role of therapist and of a member of music therapy group. At the end of the training the participant will also pass an non formal exam, in order to prove the knowledges acquired. Outcomes: At the end of the course the participants will be capable of: - Discovering and creating potential musical instruments adequated for music therapy sessions - Undersanding and properly applying music therapy principles - Identifying needs and potential of individuals and/or group
4 - Setting working objectives for different target groups, according with individual or group needs - Planning music therapy sessions focused on different symptomatologies: Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, anxiety, behaviour problems-agresivity by matching activities with objectives and group needs - Discovering new approches of using music therapy and musical instruments in spech therapy (developing language and working on its disorders) and school counselling (selfknowledge and emotional developments) - Monitoring and evaluating the progresses of participants after music therapy sessions through specific tools - Beeing aware of specific problems and limits of music therapy Program of the training activities day by day (5 days, 30 hours split in 20 units of 1h 30min): 1st day - Participants arrival (the day before) - Ice break: teambuilding activities, knowing each other activities, group rules, fears and expectations, course program and objectives, course contract, administrative issues (2 units) - Module 1: Conceptual delimitations. 10 to experience the impact of educational games to realize the importance of playing in the educational- recovery process to provide current perspectives on motivating learning through play, game functions, types of games and practical applications in the educational activity to improve the ability to perform teamwork tasks, to work in transnational groups; to improve communication skills in English. Methodology: This is a practical interactive course which will expose numerous activities and tools to transform your classroom into a fun learning environment for young learners. This course is taught interactively, with brainstorming sessions, discussion, workshops, and group work. Module 1: Theories on the genesis, nature and functions of the game; Specific taxonomies of the playful domain Module 2: Comparative analysis of the game functions; Identify the stages of the game to children aged between 0 and 7 years old. How to create a captivating learning environment Module 3: Types of educational games and other interactive/innovative teaching methods; Describe the specific characteristics of different types of games for young children Module 4: Educational Games used in teaching and learning process ; Sharing experience: participants will suggest their own interactive activities Module 5: Developing creative games, from certain data subjects Outcomes: As a result of attending this training course, the participants will become more creative in their teaching and they will be able to design materials which are motivating and attractive by using games and interactive activities. At the end of the course the participants will be capable of: working in transnational groups; identifying needs and potential of individuals and/or group exchanging information and pedagogical knowledge in a multicultural context promoting interactive teaching methods
