3 NEXT STEPS: STUDENT PORTAL Student Portal fullerton.edu homepage NEXT STEPS: STUDENT CENTER After logging in, students can click on Titan Online to access the Student Center. Students are also encouraged to check their campus regularly for s from us. ( 3
4 NEXT STEPS: TO DO LIST On the right hand side of the Student Center, the To Do List will show any documents requested of the student. Click on more to download the forms & note any deadlines! NEXT STEPS: SUBMIT DOCUMENTS All forms on the To Do List need to be completed and submitted with any additional documentation to the Office of Financial Aid in order to consider your file complete and ready for review Priority document submission deadline of June 11, 2015 Failure to meet the priority document deadline may result in reduced eligibility, delayed processing times, and late payment of financial aid funds ( 4
5 NEXT STEPS: GOOD NEWS HOLD Once your file is considered complete and ready for review, you may be eligible for a Financial Aid Good News Hold Protects your enrollment Allows you to delay the payment of your tuition fees until financial aid is disbursed until the 4 th week of the semester, at which time you will be considered responsible for paying your own tuition fees (Not applicable to housing charges) NEXT STEPS: REVIEW, AWARD & RECEIVE $ After file completion, the Office of Financial Aid will review your application, documents, and eligibility. The review process takes approx. 4 6 weeks. At the end of the review process, you will receive an actual award offer of financial aid in your Student Portal. You will receive an to your campus account asking you to view, accept or decline your actual awards. ( 5
6 NEXT STEPS: REVIEW, AWARD & RECEIVE $ Estimated aid is posted for incoming students in the Student Center. The estimated award offer is subject to change depending on final eligibility. Actual award offers will not say estimated. NEXT STEPS: REVIEW, AWARD & RECEIVE $ The Office of Financial Aid works in conjunction with Student Financial Services to pay accepted financial aid awards to students. These payments are called disbursements and begin the week before classes start each semester. All financial aid, including Parent PLUS loans, will first be applied to institutional charges, which include: mandatory state, campus fees, and housing charges (if residing in on campus housing). Any remaining financial aid after institutional charges are paid will then be refunded to the student. Financial Aid Disbursement Institutional Charges Housing Charges (If applicable) Financial Aid Refund OR Out of Pocket Expenses ( 6

10 APPLICATIONS: FAFSA In order to file a FAFSA, you must: Be a high school graduate or equivalent Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non citizen Have a valid SSN Be registered with Selective Service if you are male between ages Reminder: Complete your FAFSA fafsa.gov by March 2 nd of every year to meet the priority filing date! APPLICATIONS: CA DREAM ACT In order to file a CA Dream Act Application, you: Must be an AB540 student CA High School graduate or equivalent Attended CA High School for minimum of 3 years If attended less than 3 years, MUST have earned 3 years worth of credit AND Attended a CA elementary and secondary school for a total of 3 years Enrolled at a public CA college File an affidavit with college certifying that they have or will file to legalize immigration status, if student does not currently have lawful immigration status Do not have a valid SSN or have a temporary SSN issued through Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Be registered with Selective Service if you are male between ages Reminder: Complete your Dream Application caldreamact.org by March 2 nd of every year to meet the priority filing date! 11 APPLICATIONS: CAL GRANT In order to be considered for a Cal Grant, you: Must file either a FAFSA or CA Dream Act application by the priority filing date Be a California Resident or have AB540 status File a GPA Verification form completed by your high school or college if you ve earned 24 units Meet the income/asset ceilings defined by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) annually Reminder: If you haven t been awarded a Cal Grant, file your GPA Verification form by March 2 nd to meet the priority filing date! APPLICATIONS: CAL GRANT If you ve already been awarded a Cal Grant, all you have to do to requalify each year is to complete a FAFSA or CA Dream Act application before the priority filing date. You will not have to complete another GPA Verification form. However, if you haven t been awarded a Cal Grant, you can reapply for consideration by completing application option one or two. ( 11

13 SFS: Overview Payment Due Dates Financial Aid Refunds Installment Payment Plans (IPP) Payment Options PAYMENT DUE DATES July 6, 2015 through August 21, 2015 Register for classes first Payment is due in full within 3 days or you will be subject to disenrollment August 22, 2015 and after Register for classes first Payment is due in full immediately or you will be subject to disenrollment ( 13
14 FINANCIAL AID REFUNDS Direct Deposit Funds are directly deposited into a checking/savings account of your choice (after financial aid has been applied to institutional charges) Receive funds quickly and more securely Free to sign up How do I sign up? Log into your Student Portal in Titan Online and click on the Student Center link Select Direct Deposit Follow steps to enter your bank account information Approximately 10 business days to be implemented by your bank If your banking information changes, update your information immediately on the Student Portal Check FINANCIAL AID REFUNDS Mailed out after financial aid has been applied to institutional charges Funds will be automatically sent by check if you do not sign up for Direct Deposit Make sure your address is current in your Titan Online Student Center! Lost check may take up to six weeks to replace ( 14
15 INSTALLMENT PAYMENT PLAN (IPP) Pay Tuition Fee or Non Resident Tuition Fee in 3 monthly installments You must enroll in the plan each semester Not available after September 8, 2015 DO NOT sign up for IPP until after you register for your classes otherwise your account will not calculate correctly Students 18 years of age and over Apply for IPP immediately after registering in Titan Online Students under 18 years of age Complete, sign (both student & parent), and submit IPP application to SFS (UH 180) immediately after registering ONLINE PAYMENT OPTIONS Online Payment Options via your Titan Online > Student Center e Check (ACH) Credit Cards Accepted: VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover 2.75% non refundable credit card processing fee is charged on all credit card payment transactions Debit Cards 2.75% non refundable credit card processing fee is charged. All ATM/Debit Cards processed online are processed as credit card transactions ( 15
