Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions 3 Year Vision to support the Corporate Strategy Value Statements You Matter Our patients and their families matter and we will: Consistently give safe, dignified and compassionate care Be open and honest in our communication and work in partnership with patients and their families Recognise the specific needs of individuals and provide personalised care in the best possible setting Our staff matter and we will: Enable the development of knowledge and skills which inspire staff to give high standards of care Identify and invest in the leaders for today and the future Actively listen and encourage ideas which will improve services.

So what difference have we made? Reflective Toolkit Matrons Leadership programme

Where are we now? We have achieved a considerable amount over the last three years Recognition of the increasing financial challenge we are facing Using the same approach as before we have continued our conversation with staff through Care Matters Central theme of focus for next 3 years is: Supporting Knowledge and Practise

Year 1 We always want to work with our staff in identifying the priorities and taking the work forward, therefore we can only plan for the next year; so that we can involve those who currently work in the community in our future implementation plan. We will therefore concentrate on two aspects for the next year: Reablement (Patients Matter) and Emotional resilience of Staff ( Staff Matter)

How do we know this is the right approach? Our staff matter and we will: Enable the development of knowledge and skills which inspire staff to give high standards of care Safe systems Continued knowledge Lessons learnt often additional documentation Education in practise = confident in practise

Patients Matter Reablement What are we trying to do? Support and empower carers Start people on their reablement pathway as soon as they arrive Nursing and Therapy together

Staff Matter For those new to us: Student support Transition days Preceptorship programme Preceptee rotation For those who have worked with us for some time: Leadership Research Enhance Partnership working Caring for the Frontline

Vision - Staff Matter next steps For all staff Knowledge It s OK to ask Provide support from the Practice Education Team Increase how we test learning in practice Ensure everyone is ready for Revalidation Review/rationalise in house training programme - quarterly themes linking theory and practise Caring for the Frontline listening first, then action

What do we have at our disposal? A firm foundation People Relationships

More importantly Passion Commitment Drive Centred on the Person
