2 Registered Global Credit Professional (RGCP ) ICTF Setting the Global Standard of Excellence in International Credit and Trade Finance Developed and administered by ICTF, the leading Association of International Credit and Trade Finance, the RGCP designation is sought and held by international trade credit and finance practitioners who possess the knowledge and experience to excel in today s complex global business environment. RGCP designation holders aspire to greater expertise and hold a commitment to the highest standards of professional conduct. The RGCP Designation Program is an essential part of the ICTF mission to: Advance the profession of international trade credit and finance by providing unmatched expertise, leadership, powerful connections, and leading edge education and services. Attract a membership of international trade credit and finance professionals who demonstrate a commitment to excellence, continued professional development and sharing of best practices with fellow members and industry peers. Establish, maintain and promote the highest standards of professional competence and ethics among international trade credit and finance professionals. Increase awareness of the value of international trade credit and trade finance, and elevate the status of the profession. RGCP Requirements Education, Training and Experience The RGCP designation is intended for individuals who are currently employed in the field of international trade credit and trade finance. Candidates must choose one of the following paths and meet the specific requirements: Path 1: Experience Candidates must possess a minimum of: ten (10) years of international trade credit and finance experience*, with the most recent three (3) years as a Supervisor, Manager, Director or Vice President; and a four-year college degree Path 2: Education and Experience Candidates must: have completed an approved program of study in international trade credit and finance within the last three (3) years; and possess a minimum of three (3) years of international trade credit and finance experience* Path 3: Current Professional Designation and Experience Candidates must possess: a current professional designation demonstrating proficiency in the field of international trade credit and finance; and a minimum of three (3) years of international trade credit and finance experience* Registered Global Credit Professional
3 Core Competencies *International trade credit and finance experience is defined as experience in at least ten (10) of the following core global credit management competencies, as identified by the distinguished ICTF Accreditation Team: Assessment of Foreign Customers and Markets International Financial Statement Analysis International Credit Policies and Procedures International Credit Portfolio Management International Collections International Bankruptcies International Business Travel and Customer Visits Country Risk Knowledge and Evaluation General Knowledge of Country Legal Systems International Economics Cultural Awareness and Negotiations International Banking Practices Foreign Exchange Management Cross-Border Cash Management International Trade Finance Supply Chain Finance International Payment Methods & Risk Mitigation Export Credit Insurance International Trade Documentation and Logistics International A/R Software and IT Systems Export Credit Agencies and Multilateral Trade Organizations Renewal RGCP designation holders are registered for a period of two years. To renew the RGCP designation for an additional two-year period, professionals must: Earn three (3) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) each two-year period. Generally, one (1) CEU is defined as ten (10) hours of participation in a recognized continuing education program, with qualified instruction and sponsorship such as professional conferences, workshops, seminars, or webcasts. (Examples: a typical 1 ½ day ICTF Symposium counts as 1 CEU). Fees Application and Renewal Fees are waived for ICTF members. Non-member Application Fee: $50 Non-member two-year renewal fee: $100 ICTF Setting the Global Standard of Excellence in International Credit and Trade Finance
