5 Cloud Basics Common Cloud Computing service offerings: SaaS: Software as a Service Web delivered applications that are managed by a third-party provider IaaS: Infrastructure as a Service Self-service models for accessing, monitoring, and managing remote datacenter infrastructure PaaS: Platform as a Service Self-service middleware framework developers can use to developand deploy applications. Can be Enterprise (Private) or Public PaaS. 5

6 Cloud Basics Common Cloud Computing deployment options: Public Cloud: Services and Infrastructure offered to the public for general use. Infrastructure resources are typically shared. Private Cloud: Services and Infrastructure similar to Public Cloud but dedicated to specific users and contained by Firewalls or other Security structures that limit access to specific resources. Hybrid Cloud: Private Cloud services hosted on Public Cloud infrastructure. 6
