2 Quote BeNeLux governments Due to the large amount of indivual closed systems, - with each of them an own communication protocol - that afterwards need to work as one solution, the consistent exploitation of tunnels is impossible.

3 The Choice: PROFINET Advantages Recent technology that remains at least 25 years in the market. European anchoring due to to common development from 2 leading Automation companies (deep knowledge available) Siemens (Ertec Chip) Phoenix Contact (Tiger Chip) TCP/IP based protocol so all redundancy and flexibility advantages of a network. Disadvantages Lack of TOTAL tunnel solutions on the market within this new technology. Consequence : Technology partners are needed to develop the missing links Higher startup cost and higher risk due to new technology, but much lower total cost of ownership.

4 The execution: Using Profinet Phoenix Contact integrated the following techniques in several different projects : TMS:Tunnel Management System : through a direct SQL link BRS: Integration of automatic fire scenarios DEG : Development of a Dynamic Evacuation Guidance system S.ES: Development of statical evacuation signs with integrated sonorisation as well as integration of Swaroflex evacuation profiles Emergency doors : development of a security door profile Train localization through Ultrasone & through direct Siemens EBP coupling (in development) SHE : Smoke and Heat extraction T-switches : failsafe disconnect of the overhead wire over ProfiSafe) HVAC from train stations Integration of hydratants-smoke curtains-elevators-escalatorssonorisation-emergency lightning-railwaystation lightning Main tunnel lightning including lightning of entrance of tunnel Integration of L20 measurements and snooze lumination

13 Coupling from fire scenario s through redundant Profinet Controllers The activation is based on a fire scenario matrix in a master Excel file which is read in by the redundant PLC s 1. The primary IO-Controller always communicates with the primary subslots, and the Backup IO-Controller always with the backup subslots. The physical inputs are copied into both logical subslots. Both IO-Controllers are sending their outputs to the IO-Device. Only the active Controller (Master) sets the state of the outputs to Good. 22 Profinet Integration in PWM Power LED Drivers Dynamic bridgeprotection for the N201 Kunstwerken voor N201 Vraag Voor de randafwerking van de N201 wenst de architect een translucente constructie, van achteren Dynamisch verlicht met LEDverlichting. De constructie moet bekabeling, leidingen en HWA accommoderen. Bovendien moet de constructie voorzien in een geïntegreerd geluidsscherm. Uitvoering Translucentie is onmogelijk te bereiken met beton of staal. Logischerwijs is voor een FiberNose oplossing gekozen. Van boven en onderen te monteren overlappende composiet 'schalen' vormen samen het kunstwerk. De rood opgloeiende plastieken geven de N201 straks een magische uitstraling.
