4 The French school is governed by the Code of the Education, gathering all the voted laws. Exemple: Article L L éducation est la première priorité nationale. Le service public de l éducation est conçu et organisé en fonction des élèves et des étudiants. Il contribue à l égalité des chances. The education is the first national priority. The public service of the education is conceived and organized according to the pupils and the students. It contributes to the equality of opportunity. Article L521-1 L année scolaire comporte trente-six semaines au moins réparties en cinq périodes de travail, de durée comparable, séparées par quatre périodes de vacance des classes. Un calendrier scolaire national est arrêté par le ministre chargé de l éducation pour une période de trois années. The school year contains thirty six weeks at least distributed in five periods of work, of comparable duration, separated by four periods of vacancy of the classes. A national school calendar is decided by the Department of Education for a period of three years. The law of refoundation of the School appeared in July gives new orientations and reaffirms important axes of the law of 2005.

12 The exams results : In 2011, more than 71 % of the young people of a generation obtains a baccalauréat ( GCE A-level ). The success in the high school diploma always varies according to the social origin of the candidates. There is thus 30 % of young people who go out of the school system without diploma or with low qualification
