2 IT-G2-CAL GOALS The fourth transnational meeting within the SHARE cooperation agreement took place after the review of the TCA following the exit of the Latvian partner, determined by the withdrawal of the approval of the national project. The meeting represents an intermediate stage in the course of the cooperation activities envisaged by the SHARE TCS and an opportunity to reconsidering the schedule with regard to the implementation of the products set in the TCA. Hence, objectives of this meeting are: 1. To provide our partners with a framework on the progress status of the 5 national projects. 2. To continue the exchange of experiences, methods and tools. 3. To give details on contents and methods of implementation of the products. The meeting was also used as an occasion to introduce the new transnational team of the Lithuanian D.P. Moreover, some of the Italian D.P. PAOLA could come to terms with the transnational dimension of the Equal project for the first time. 2

3 IT-G2-CAL ACTIVITIES The meeting took place in three days; each day was divided up into two sessions, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Within the preparatory activities for the organization of the meeting, partners were sent a draft of the programme; each partner was asked to give details on organizational data and to give information on the specific topic of their contribution to the exchange of experiences. The partner responsible for the organization aimed at orienting these specific activities by presenting dedicated tools and methods that had been tested in the national project. The introductory session was first of all the occasion for the final approval of the meeting programme. Then a short description of the progress status of each partner s national project was given, thus avoiding repeating a general presentation and allowing for a report on the actual achievements in relation to the work programme. All partners made use of efficient communication tools for their presentation such as slides and web pages. On the first day, the so-called exchange of experiences, methods and tools adopted or to adopt in the run of the national project, was launched. The Italian partner underlined the fact that the materials made available by each partner are regularly added to the transnational section of the PS PAOLA web pages, to which there s free access; thus making useful and consistent information available for the orientation and mutual integration of the approaches as well as of the operational practices of each partner; 3

4 IT-G2-CAL-101 Each project proved to be differently suitable for the adoption of methodological and operational cues tested in other contests, with projects being generally prone to keep the options already implemented. High flexibility and openness characterized the so-called shared/common projects, where partners strongly and efficiently strived to gain truly tangible results as a consequence of their commitment and actual contributions. On the second day of the meeting and partly on the third one, participants focused on the progress status of shared/common projects and on the further study of possible implementation. On the third day, the meeting dealt with the optimization of the communication flow, thus updating both the partners web address lists with their web manager and the contact list with the indication of any desiderata for each representative with regard to the transnational work. Participants were finally asked to fill an assessment form on the work done in the meeting. 4

5 IT-G2-CAL RESULTS AND DECISIONS At the end of the meeting, partners expressed general satisfaction for the work developped, which allows for optimism with regard to the final results expected by the TCA. As for the report on the implementation of shared/common projects the following was highlighted: a) Transnational adoption and experimentation of the Social Capital method of analysis for disabled people. The methodology tested by the Italian partner with its research on social capital of disabled people was welcomed with interest by all partners, who reaffirmed that they mean to carry out a comparative analysis on the forms and the production methods, as well as on application of social capital according to the following work programme: The Italian partner, in the person of Mr. Stefano Bertoldi, will provide guidelines on the use of the questionnaire and on any other issue regarding the survey; - Each partner will carry out the survey on a sample derived from the target group of its project by the end of December 2006; - Partners will send their filled questionnaire to Mr. Bertoldi, who will process them in cooperation with other researchers; - The resulting statistical tables will be sent to each partner so as to allow for a specific analysis on quantitative data; 5

6 IT-G2-CAL On the occasion of the 5 th transnational meeting (Prague, May 2006), each partner will have the possibility to present its interpretation of the local data; - The transnational research report will be worked out by the Italian partner and presented in its final version at the final meeting in Vilnius (Lithuania). b) Production of a digital video for the promotion of the disabled in society and in work. At the meeting, the French, Belgian, and Lithuanian partners displayed their semi-processed contributions to the final product (Video) or a format of reference that they mean to change and enhance. Partners agree to proceed according to the following schedule: - By the end of February 2007, the Italian and Belgian partners will receive the videos on dvd or cd from the other partners. - The Belgian partner will be responsible for the editing of the 5 national contributions in one single product, and will design the opening and closing graphic. - The Italian partner will write down the presentation and the closing annotation, it will translate it into English and send it to the Belgian partner. - The Belgian partner won t change the national contributions that are to be provided according to the following requirements: - a) Max. Duration for each contribution: 3 minutes; - b) Title, dialogues and commentary by the voice-over will be in the partner s language; title, dialogues and commentary by the voice-over will be with English subtitles; - c) The sequence shall be rapid and essential; the voice-over commentary can be accompanied by background music; 6

7 IT-G2-CAL-101 d) At the end of each film the partner will display its own credits in its language without further subtitles; e) At the beginning and at the end of the product only the logos of the European Union, Ic Equal and TCA SHARE shall appear; d) Each partner shall be responsible for the content of its film, for improper use of trademarks, logos, pictures and texts and for copyright and privacy issues. e) The Belgian partner will send a master-copy of the final product to each partner who will provide for as many copies as it needs and for distribution as desired; f) In the reproduction of the national version of the video, each partner shall faithfully respect the master and reproduce the title that the partners will jointly decide while adding the subtitle in its own language on label and cover; each partner can choose its own graphic for labels and covers of the cd. g) By December 2006 partners will send their proposals with regard to the title of the final video, to the Belgian partner, who will choose the mostly voted title, in case of two titles being equally voted, partners will be asked to vote again only for these two titles. c) Recommendations on policies and practices for social inclusion of disabled people. Each partner will propose a series of items for the development of its own recommendations, on the basis of the experience gained within its Equal project. At the meeting of Prague a shared format will be approved, each partner will develop its own recommendations regarding the format; the Italian partner will carry out the European introduction to the different contributions and will submit it to the other partners so as to have the final product ready for the last meeting in Vilnius. 7

8 IT-G2-CAL-101 Recommendations will be mostly aimed at supporting the new member countries (Lithuania, Czech Republic) in the awareness raising activities towards their policy makers for the adoption of innovative practices in the policies for social inclusion of disabled people; other countries (e.g. Italy) can use recommendations for the mainstreaming towards public bodies and policy/decision makers of local public bodies. 4. Plan for the meeting in Prague The next transnational meeting will be held in Prague (Czech Rep.) in the month of May By March 2007, the hosting partner will fix the dates of work and provide a provisional programme, which partners may change or integrate. In the provisional programme the hosting partner will indicate the contents of the work and the following: - The meeting location; - Accommodation facilities near the meeting location, with the indication of category, tariffs per day, transport facilities and costs; - Each partner will directly choose and book its accommodation, unless otherwise agreed with the hosting partner. 8
