5 General Information For more information, go to ecampus.unk.edu 3 Admissions unk.edu/admissions In order to enroll for any UNK course, you must be actively admitted to UNK. Applications for Admission (both undergraduate and graduate) are available online at unk.edu/admissions. First-time students of UNK who enroll for classes will pay a nonrefundable application fee of $45 prior to registration for any UNK class. Undergraduate: (UG) students who have not enrolled at UNK for two years (since Spring 2014) must complete an application for readmission. There is no readmission fee. For an online application, go to or call or Graduate: (G) students who have not enrolled within the last two years, as well as those seeking admission to a second degree program, will need to reapply for admission and pay a readmission fee of $45. To apply, go to or call or Application deadlines for graduate degree seeking students are as follows unless stated differently by the department: June 15 for Fall admission; October 15 for Spring admission; March 15 for Summer admission. Application deadlines for graduate non-degree seeking students is one week prior to term beginning. International: For F-1 students enrolled in classes for credit or classroom hours, no more than the equivalent of one class or three credits per session, term, semester, trimester, or quarter may be counted toward the full course of study requirement if the class is taken online or through distance education and does not require the student s physical attendance for classes, examination or other purposes integral to completion of the class. An online or distance education course is a course that is offered principally through the use of television, audio, or computer transmission including open broadcast, closed circuit, cable, microwave, or satellite, audio conferencing, or computer conferencing. If the F-1 student s course of study is in a language study program, no online or distance education classes may be considered to count toward a student s full course of study requirement. Non-U.S. citizens outside the U.S. are not held to this regulation and can enroll in more than 3 credit hours of online classes. MyBLUE will NOT allow students to register for classes until they visit with their undergraduate advisor. The advisor will release an advising flag on MyBLUE once the advising session is complete. All undergraduate students, regardless of classification, should contact an academic advisor to discuss course prerequisites, course offerings and their specific degree requirements prior to registration. If you do not contact your advisor, you will not be able to register during Early Registration. A student who has not decided on a specific academic major or endorsement should contact the Academic & Career Services at or [email protected] for assistance. Registration Spring 2016 Early Registration Begins October 26 If you have been admitted to UNK, and know your NUID & password, follow the directions below: Step 1: Use one of the supported browsers: Internet Explorer 9, Firefox or Safari 4.0. Step 2: For registration times, go to and choose Registration Appt Times. Step 3: To access MyBLUE go to or go to the UNK home page at and choose the MyBLUE link at the bottom of the page. Step 4: Login with your NUID number and password. (You created these two identifiers when you filled out your online admission form.) Step 5: Once on your Student Center MyBLUE page: a) Find the Enrollment Section and select Enroll b) The student will read a statement regarding their responsibility to pay for tuition & fees for the class they are about to register. Unless they follow proper procedures to drop or withdraw from the course, the student is obligated to pay their bill. c) Click the continue button d) Select a term (Spring 2016) then click continue e) Enter the class number (can be 4 or 5 digits) click enter f) Click the finishing enrollment button - look for a green check mark which will indicate successful enrollment. Other options available on MyBLUE include grades, account balance, financial aid, address information, degree audit, and transcripts. It is important to register early as classes fill up quickly. Students must be admitted to UNK before they can register. Students may register for any UNK class that has been officially added to the schedule and has a class number. A late fee of $15 will be assessed for any student who registers after the first meeting day of the class in the summer or after the first meeting week in the fall or spring. I ve Registered for Classes - Now What? After registering for your class(es), you need to access your Loper account and login to Blackboard. For instructions, go to ecampus.unk.edu and click on Student Resources > I ve Registered - Now What? Grades on the Web Students may access final grades online by accessing and clicking on Grades. If you must have a printed copy of your grades that has your name and ID number included, you may request an official transcript by using the transcript request form on MyBLUE. Every effort is made to inform you of the due date, failure to receive a billing notification will NOT be an acceptable excuse for missing the payment deadline. Also, students failing to attend class meetings does not constitute withdrawal from the class and does NOT eliminate the obligation to pay all tuition and related fees. Important Credit Card Information The ONLY means of paying student account charges (tuition, room & board, or other fees) with a credit card is online through MyBLUE. UNK will no longer accept credit card payments for student account charges in person, by mail, or by fax. Also, students choosing the credit card option of payment will be charged a 2.75% non-refundable convenience fee based on the payment amount. However, if you are planning to take only online courses from UNK, this requirement is not necessary. Instead, please contact the UNK

This degree in business administration provides students with a solid foundation of the various aspects of businesses and an appreciation of how the integration of those functional areas impact organizational performance. Graduates of the BSBA Online Degree Completion Program earn a four-year degree in Business Administration from UNK. Graduates of this program often find positions in management, marketing, accounting, finance, economics, human resource management, information technology, and supply chain management. The UNK business programs are accredited by AACSB International, the highest standard of achievement of business schools worldwide. The BSBA program requires a total of 35 credit hours for the major plus completion of a minor. The accounting minor (21 hrs.) and marketing/management minor (24 hrs.) can be completed totally online. Core courses are offered each semester, with minor courses offered concurrently on a rotating basis. Refer to page 8 for a list of UNK online minors. Degree: Bachelor of Science Program: Business Administration Degree Level: Undergraduate Degree Completion Credit Hours: 65 credit hours available online (120 credit hours needed to graduate) Prerequisite: Students need to complete 45 hours of general studies courses and 21 hours of 200-level business courses (macroeconomics, microeconomics, business communications, statistics, account ing I, accounting II and applied calculus) necessary for a Bachelor s degreee independently. This online program combines courses from the Kearney, Omaha, and Lincoln campuses, providing you with the best academic experience possible. Courses reflect current trends in justice, and faculty have both practitioner and research expertise. A highlight of the degree program is the intensive internship that will provide hands-on experience in the field. The internship is completed at a location convenient to the student. Past placements have included the Nebraska State Patrol and National Security Agency. The criminal justice field is experiencing sustained growth. Students have dozens of career paths to choose from, working in law enforcement, corrections, the courts, victims of crime, and with juvenile and special offender populations. This endorsement also provides the courses necessary for non-certified teachers to be approved by the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles. Students pursuing this certification in other states must check with their State Department of Education for certification requirements. The undergraduate coursework may be completed online while the lab component must be completed at the Nebraska Safety Center Driving Range in Kearney, Nebraska. This lab component may be completed in a minimum of three to five days. Endorsement: Driver Education Endorsement Degree Level: Undergraduate Credit Hours: 9 credit hours Prerequisites: To obtain a Driver Education Endorsement or equivalency of a Driver Education Endorsement you need to be at least 21 years of age. This program is designed to address the emerging needs in Nebraska and nationwide for professionals trained to work with children and families in non-teaching positions within formal public agency programs, private childcare centers, and early childhood education centers. While Early Childhood Education programs are plentiful and degrees are adequate to prepare preschool teachers, there are few programs that prepare Early Childhood Family Advocates - those within educational settings working with families and children in non-teaching positions. Family Advocates provide comprehensive educational and case management services to children and their families in their homes. Degree: Bachelor of Science Program: Early Childhood and Family Advocacy Degree Level: Undergraduate Degree Completion Credit Hours: 60 credit hours (120 hours needed to graduate) Prerequisites: None Contact: Dr. Toni Hill Family Studies & Interior Design and Teacher Education [email protected] Phone: Early Childhood Inclusive (ECI) The Early Childhood Inclusive program is designed for in-service teachers, assistants in preschools, staff in HeadStart programs, and other non-traditional students who are unable to attend regular face-to-face classes at a university. Students pursuing certification in other states must check with their State Department of Education for certification requirements. ECI BA degree - Students with an ECI BA degree will have the opportunity to complete their Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Inclusive Teaching Endorsement (Birth through 3rd grade) while working in early childhood-related places of employment. This early childhood degree prepares graduates to teach children ages 0-5 in special education settings and ages 0-8 in regular education settings. This is a degree completion program, which assumes that students will complete most of their general studies courses at a community college prior to transferring to UNK.
