LUIS CASTILLO President of the Argentine Rugby Union. WELCOME Welcome to the 2012 Personal Rugby Championship! As the Argentine Rugby Union Chairman, I am greatly honoured to be at the opening of this historical event for the Argentine rugby, being the first time the Pumas have ever participated in a yearly tournament of the outmost international level. I would like to thank every single person that made it possible, with their work over so many years, to make this dream come true. In particular, I would like to thank the Press, who has been chaperones of our Pumas along the long path that lead them here. I am confident that the Media support shall remain more than ever present in this tournament, of such great dimension. Furthermore, I would like to thank the SANZAR for letting us be a part of this. Being host to three of the best national teams in the world and having the Pumas face their opponents with their people s enthusiasm and support, in different provinces in the country is an overwhelming happiness for the Union as a whole and for all Rugby fans. 75 Rodrigo Roncero is considered one of the best props in the entire rugby world. He played in the front row for Deportiva Francesa and his versatility allowed him to play both as left side prop (his original position) and as hooker. Roncero made his debut with the Pumas against Japan in 1998 and, since then, has participated several times representing Argentina. After playing for Gloucester, Roro joined the rows of the Stade Francais, where he was crowned champion during the season 2006/07. This year, he played against Italy in June, and then he took a rest to get ready for the Personal Rugby Championship. Roncero, with 49 test matches played and three RWCs, is one of the most experienced players in the squad. 75
