5 Metering point operator The metering point operator must offer metering devices which reflect the actual energy consumption and the actual TOU to the customer. With robotron*e smart, metering data can be collected, prepared according to specifications and communicated to the relevant market partner. The integrated device management offers the management of device parameters including device firmware and at the same time enables parameterization independent from the meter manufacturer. Automated synchronization of device master data and external systems simplifies data administration and allows the comprehensibility of the entire device history. Besides administration of parameters of individual meter devices and additional equipment the device management module also includes the administration of the entire metering point topology which results in faster and better service. Optimized features for device installation and change processes as well as the direct connection with workforce management systems support the roll-out of devices. A configurable customer internet portal solution is also offered by Robotron. Within each individual company layout, previously collected metering data are visualized in a convenient manner. Implementing robotron*e smart, Smart Grid functionalities are provided which are concerned with managing and controlling decentralized feeders and loads as well as integrating SCADA systems. The module robotron*switchingserver complements the MDM system with a highly efficient head-end-system and may be perfectly integrated as stand-alone element into existing infrastructures. Serving as a communication hub it offers routing functionalities of meter and control data between different systems and/ or market partners. It is the task of the headend-system to bidirectional exchange control commands and status information between the control system of the external market partner and the CLS device. Typical SCADA systems for instance could serve as controlling units. Essential information about status and/or quality of the grid is delivered towards the grid control unit. Integrated automated conversion of communication protocols connects existing infrastructures with system landscapes from various Smart Meter and Smart Grid areas.

6 Suppliers Based on changes in the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) dated 25 October 2008, it is necessary for suppliers to provide variable load-based or time-of-use tariffs since the end of Synergies arise in particular from integrating metering point operation. With robotron*e smart, existing system landscapes can be enhanced or the system can be implemented as an independent solution. The provision of metering data via Web portal is just as possible as the provision of data with robotron*e profiler. 10 Market communication with robotron*comcenter robotron*comcenter serves as an intercompany data exchange platform for market communication. Central focus lies on controlling and logging of data flows from and/or to different applications. The solution offers a number of research possibilities and provides conversion tools with the purpose of monitoring the EDIFACT data exchange as well as the integration of internal systems. Different processes of the robotron*comcenter allow applications to retrieve s and/or files, to convert files and safe meta-information for research purposes within the database of the robotron*comcenter. In that regard, it is optimally integrated within robotron*e smart.
