Element & Protection Services SHORT LIST - PRODUCTS SENTRY 101 DS Wireless Personal Durress Systems Repeaters provide expansive coverage Reliable 900 MHz Spread Spectrum technology Detect alarms from doors or equipment Output to telephone, pager, radio Optional man-down detection The Sentry 101 durress system is an affordable solution for providing rock solid state-of-the-art detection of duress (panic) alarms with optional man-down detection. In the event of an alarm, the master receiver will beep to alert staff and display the number of the pendant that is in alarm. The beeper is silenced by pressing a button on the front of the master receiver. The master receiver has a rechargeable backup battery which will operate the unit for about 8 hours in the event of a power failure. LED lamps on the front of the unit will light and flash if AC power fails or the backup battery is running low. The Sentry 101 system is completely wireless - there is no interconnect wiring to install. The master receiver and repeaters have only a small wall transformer to be plugged into a nearby outlet. As an option, the Sentry 101 can call remote telephone numbers, pager or 2-way radios
Pendants The DS 1235 pendant comes with a belt clip and with single button or double button activation. The single button version is also available with an extra heavy duty case for demanding environments (DS 1235-I - "I" for Industrial). The DS 1235-S and the DS 1235-I can be ordered with man-down option. The DS 1223-S is available with the belt clip, neck lanyard or optional wrist band and is water resistant to a depth of 1 meter. The Sentry 101 system supports up to 32 pendants or transmitters. Pendants have an approximate true-lineof-site range of 1KM but this will be diminished by buildings, walls, floors, trees or other obstructions. Inside buildings, range is typically hundreds of feet depending on the nature of the structure. Range is extended by installing wireless repeaters. Man-Down The man-down option for the DS 1233 and DS 1235 pendants will detect the tilt of the pendant beyond 60 degrees. When the pendant is so tilted, it will beep for approximately 30 seconds. If the pendant has not been righted in that time period, it will send a duress alarm. To avoid false alarms for simple activities like tying one's shoelaces, the beeper reminds the wearer that an alarm is about to occur. The man-down option is not available for the DS 1223-S. Remote Reporting Alarms can be announced to telephones, pagers (both subscription and on-site systems) and hand held radios. Up to 4 telephones can receive a pre-recorded voice message. Instead of one or more voice message calls, we may substitute calling typical subscription type numeric pagers. A more powerful on-site paging system will display an alpha-numeric alarm message on any number of pagers. Hand held radios can received a pre-recorded voice message describing the alarm. Supervision The Sentry 101 pendants are supervised for both low battery and operational readiness. The system will detect a low battery condition from any pendant or transmitter and report it. This will occur approximately 2 weeks prior to the end of the battery life. Batteries are commonly available and can be replaced by the user. Battery life is 1 to 2 years. Each pendant and transmitter report to the master receiver with a check-in signal every 60 seconds. If a transmitter fails to report to the master receiver within a 4 hour window, a supervisory alarm is created. If special circumstances warrant, the check-in window can be set from 1 to 99 hours. This must be done by CISCOR prior to shipping the system. Repeaters As mentioned previously, the range for pendants indoors will be in the hundreds of feet depending on the composition of the building structure. If necessary, range is extended with the use of wireless repeaters. Repeaters intercept the alarm transmission and then re-transmit with 30 times more power. True-line-of-siteranger for a repeater is about 3 Kilometers. Like pendants, this range is reduced by obstructions. Multiple repeaters can be installed creating a wireless network capable of dependable alarm reporting for very large areas covering many acres or several miles. Repeaters require no wiring with only a small 110vac transformer to be plugged into the nearest outlet. Each repeater has its own backup battery power supply. They may be installed outdoors and it should be noted that cold climates will require an optional heater package. Element & Protection Services - 8 -
900 MHz Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum This is simply a fancy term which means it doesn't get any more reliable than this. Spread spectrum technology was developed by the military to prevent jamming and interference to radio communications. The alarm signals are spread out over a wide radio spectrum randomly hopping from channel to channel. If there is interference from equipment, CB radios or other sources, the system can still deliver. When lives hang in the balance, we should expect nothing less. Upgrades All Sentry 101 pendants and wireless repeaters will function with CISCOR's powerful PC based DEVI-9000 flagship software. This system is capable of providing the location of pendants as well as the ID of each individual pendant. Thousands of wireless devices may be incorporated. Other Transmitters In addition to pendants, we can report alarm conditions or change-of-state on/off status from equipment, doors, gas detectors or other devices. For example, we may want to know when pressure or temperature exceeds normal boundaries. Also, wireless smoke detectors can be incorporated. In addition to theft protection for valuable equipment and assets, the Asset Sentry also provides real time asset tracking. The Asset Sentry anti theft device system by CISCOR provides anti theft devices that are designed to prevent employee theft or unauthorized removal of assets. Typical anti theft device and asset tracking applications include overhead projectors, lab equipment, computer theft, furniture, fire extinguishers, medical equipment, and any other item of value or strategic importance. Rock solid theft protection deters and prevents employee theft or theft by others. Generate an anti theft device alarm if an asset is stolen. Stop computer theft once and for all. Anti theft device system works indoors and outdoors. Use wireless asset tracking to locate assets. Locate personnel. Totally wireless infrastructure greatly reduces system cost. Anti theft device transmitters are fully supervised for operational readiness. Innovative patent pending technology. Element & Protection Services
Totally Wireless The asset tracking, anti employee theft detection infrastructure, installed throughout the facility, uses totally wireless transceivers. Each requires nothing more than a 110vac power source and includes a built in back up battery power supply. The elimination of costly interconnect wiring allows the Asset Sentry to satisfy the most demanding budgets. The Anti Theft Device Stop computer theft and overhead projector theft or other stationary assets with a Fixed Asset Transmitter (F.A.T.) anti theft device. If any part of the anti theft device is dislodged, removed or disconnected, an alarm signal is sent immediately to the central computer. Multiple assets such as a row of computers in a computer lab can be easily protected with a single F.A.T. anti theft device. Asset Tracking We may use asset tracking at any time to determine the location of a portable or mobile asset by querying the computer. The computer will then indicate the last location detected by the system and the time and date of the detection. Personnel Tracking Employees and staff persons carrying wireless belt clip pendants can also be tracked in a facility. As with asset tracking, a query is made at the computer to see the last known location of the person. These same personnel tracking pendants can also be used to call for help in an emergency. The computer shows who activated the call and their location. This is especially comforting to employees and managers who must walk to their car at night in a parking garage or parking lot. Automated Dispatch The Asset Sentry has several useful methods for dispatching anti theft alarms and emergency call alarms and all of them are automated. This virtually eliminates human error and assures a rapid response. Outputs include portable hand held radios, on site paging systems, off site subscription pagers, fax and . For most installations, broadcasting to hand held radios will be the most efficient means of dispatching alarms. In the event of an alarm, the central computer will broadcast a user defined radio voice message to the existing facility hand held radios (walkie talkies). For example, those equipped with radios might hear the message, "Overhead projector theft alarm. Adams Hall, third floor, room 312." Alarm messages are created or changed by simply typing the message into the computer setup program. The message will continue to rebroadcast every 15 seconds until the alarm is acknowledged either at the computer or from a hand held radio. Acknowledgement is by individual user ID number which provides a vital level of accountability. Radio messages can be partitioned as needed to specified groups of hand held radios. In the event of an alarm, security personnel may have ongoing tactical discussions via the radio network to more efficiently facilitate a successful outcome. Also, a radio message is heard by staff without having to stop. An incoming page requires that the staff person stop, pull the pager off of the belt, manipulate buttons and then read the message. This time consuming ritual is fully eliminated with radios. The Asset Sentry does support pagers which can be used as auxiliary annunciation for managers and supervisors. Proprietary on site alpha numeric pagers will display the alarm message. Off site area wide subscription pagers can be set up to do the same. Faxes and s may also be activated. As with pagers, these are used as management tools. Typical alarms might include supervisory failure of a transmitter or taking too long to acknowledge an alarm. Any alarm or event may be set up to be delivered as a fax or . Other building systems can be easily integrated for the purpose of automating the dispatch of their alarms or events. An addressable building fire alarm system can announce specific detectors and their locations over hand held radios. This saves precious time as staff would normally be required to first go to the fire alarm panel to determine the location of the fire. Automated dispatch sends staff to the trouble spot immediately. HVAC and access control system alarms are two more examples of systems that can benefit from automated dispatch. Door and Room Alarms Detection transmitters are also available to create an alarm if a door is opened or if there is movement in a room. Secure sensitive areas such as the computer server room or a tool room. These transmitters can be turned on or off automatically by a flexible software scheduler, by a key switch or keypad or by an access control card reader. For example, if the scheduler is used we might arm the main door from 6PM to 7AM and all day Saturday and Sunday. Element & Protection Services
Works Outdoors The Asset Sentry can easily accommodate large outdoor yards and facilities. Monitor forklifts, trucks, cars, golf carts, power lifts, graders, earth movers, and anything in between. Because the Asset Sentry is totally wireless, installation in large outdoor complexes is easy and cost effective. Rock Solid Reliability All aspects of the system, including all wireless transmitters, repeaters and locators, are fully supervised ensuring that everything is working. The system will be there when you need it. All wireless devices continuously transmit a heartbeat signal to the central computer. If a transmitter or other device stops working, a supervisory failure alarm is created. Also, low battery conditions are monitored as well and will be indicated before the transmitter stops working. Batteries are user replaceable and commonly available. The Asset Sentry employs true frequency hopping spread spectrum technology. This technology was first developed by the military to eliminate jamming and interference. Signals will torpedo through the noisiest environments providing rock solid reliability. Reports An easy to use report generator allows custom reports to be defined by the user. The report formats are then saved for repeated use. Up to four sorting criteria and three sorting orders may be implemented in building reports. The Asset Sentry anti theft device and asset tracking system is very effective at stopping employee theft or theft by others of valuable assets. CISCOR means affordable and dependable theft protection. REAL TIME SECURITY GUARD TOUR SYSTEMS Guard tour system monitors stops in real time. Create alarm if guard is late to a tour stop (or early). Record guard tour incidents in real time. Multiple guard tours running simultaneously. Can vary each guard tour day by day. Give prompts to guard as to which stop is next. The CISCOR real time Guard Tour Sentry security guard tour system logs and reports the movement of each security guard as he or she makes rounds from one assigned guard tour station to the next. Each guard tour station is equipped with a key switch or keypad that is attached to a wireless transmitter. All other information such as the security guard's name, and any incident report such as "door unlocked" or "hazardous waste found" is logged by using the security guard's own hand held two way radio. All entries are date and time stamped. There are no extra readers or scanners to carry or issue. And best of all, the information is logged as it is happening in real time. A conventional security guard tour system must wait until the security guard returns to the central office and downloads the security guard tour information from a system reader or scanner. The DEVI 9000 software has a sophisticated report generator that allows the user to define an unlimited number of security guard tour report types. For example, management may want to print a daily report of any security guard tour stations that were missed or a report with only the security guard tour system stations that had incidents to log. A time schedule for the security guard tour stations may be defined by the user which will create an immediate alarm at the computer if a security guard tour station is not visited in the pre-defined time window. This is not possible with a security guard tour system that uses readers and scanners. Element & Protection Services
Element & Protection Services DEVI 9000 SOFTWARE The Sentry system by CISCOR uses our powerful DEVI 9000 software engine to provide the comprehensive communication required for effective security response. It is designed to receive alarms and signals from almost any type of device or system and integrate them into one command and control centre. The DEVI 9000 software has virtually unlimited input and output capabilities, and so can be easily tailored to any use. Input Universal Data Input The DEVI 9000 works with any system that provides standard ASCII output, including addressable fire alarm panels, intrusion alarm systems, HVAC alarms and events, intercoms, telephone systems, and access control systems. Hardwired Input CISCOR's Data Control Modules can provide up to 6,000 hardwired inputs. Wireless Input The DEVI 9000 software supports up to 65,000 uniquely coded wireless transmitters, and can monitor facilities covering several square miles. Wireless devices use true frequency hopping spread spectrum transmission technology to provide rock solid reliability. Compatible transmitters include personal duress pendants, universal input transmitters, door and window transmitters, numeric keypads, motion detectors, glass break detectors and smoke detectors. All wireless devices are supervised for operational readiness and low battery conditions. Digital Communicator Input Standard digital communicators can use any dial up telephone line to transmit alarms from anywhere in the world to the DEVI Radio and Telephone Input Staff can communicate with the DEVI 9000 by entering a number code into their hand held radios or portable telephones. They can use their keypads to perform such functions as acknowledging an alarm by individual ID, controlling gates or other equipment, answering intercom or telephone calls, and calling 911. Any typical security desk audio function can be transferred to hand held radios and telephones, and for ultra high security, encryption and access may be controlled by radio ID number
Output The DEVI 9000 can designate that an alarm go out through any combination of output methods, including radio, telephone, , pager or fax. This allows users to tailor alarm communication to the existing devices, personnel, and applications. Two Way Radios When an alarm comes in, a computer generated voice announcement can be instantly transmitted to hand held radios. CISCOR's patent pending Radio Interface can designate specific radio groups, so that all transmissions do not go to all radios. For example, security alarms may be broadcast only to security personnel, and HVAC events only to maintenance personnel. Alarms may also be partitioned by location and areas of assignment, and are even available in multiple languages. Telephones The DEVI 9000 software can output to portable or fixed telephones by displaying a description of the alarm in the caller ID window of the telephone. A staff person can then answer the call, hear the computer voice description of the alarm, and use the telephone keypad to acknowledge it with their personal ID number. Staff members may also call the computer to access functions such as turning on lights or requesting a status report. Status reports are delivered via the computer's voice module. For enhanced security, the computer may be accessed from anywhere in the world via passwords or specified codes. To keep managers and supervisors apprised of day to day events, the DEVI 9000 can be programmed to send them alarm messages, including failure to restore a device and equipment supervisory alerts. Pagers The DEVI can transmit messages to on site paging systems or world wide, to telephone dial up subscription pagers. Both numeric and alpha numeric subscription pagers are supported. Fax Users can also set up the criteria to have the DEVI 9000 software fax events or messages to locations worldwide. Universal Data Output Send any alarm data or control commands via serial RS232 output to any other system or equipment that speaks ASCII. Hardwired Relay Output CISCOR's Data Control Module hardwire panels support up to 4,000 SPDT relay outputs. Relay outputs can be programmed from 1 to 9,999 seconds (about 2 hours and 45 minutes), latching or following. The system can be activated by time schedule, by another alarm, or by entering a code number at a hand held radio, telephone, or wireless keypad. Wireless Relay Output Users can transmit any of 65,000 available wireless codes to stand alone wireless receivers to provide latching, following or momentary SPDT relay outputs. Uses are endless: door locks, gate operators, pumps, motors, lighting, and other functions may be controlled without installing an inch of connecting wire. Users can specify methods of activation, including by time schedule, by other alarms, or by entering a code number into a hand held radio, telephone or wireless keypad. Output at the Computer To ensure that messages are not momentarily lost in the drone of typical command centre noise, the computer announces all alarms in a clear, computer generated voice. At the same time, alarm data is posted to the computer screen and can be colour coded by alarm type to aid recognition; for instance, fire alarm data may be red and intrusion alarms blue. Element & Protection Services
Graphic Display The computer video monitor displays graphic maps and floor plans to indicate alarm locations. An icon on the map clearly marks the alarm. After the alarm is resolved, the icon may be removed manually, by a timer, by another event, or by restoral of the event. In addition to video display, large custom printed maps with LED indicator lights may also be part of the overall alarm annunciation strategy. To further alert staff, scrolling LED displays can be positioned in strategic locations and controlled by wireless signal. Digital Communicator CISCOR's computer controlled digital communicator can use dial up telephone lines to transfer alarms to any digital receiver. This feature can be used by facilities that are not staffed 24 hours a day to post alarms to a central monitoring station after hours and on weekends. Personnel Tracking Features Users can track and find important staff persons with a small wireless pendant transmitter. Asset Tracking and Containment Wireless transmitters can be attached to important assets, sounding an alarm if they are removed from their defined areas. The wireless system can alarm an area up to several square miles. Real Time Guard Tour To provide an increased level of security, the DEVI 9000 offers real time guard tour monitoring. To offer immediate response if a guard is disabled, the system monitors guard stations for activity, generating an alarm if a station has not been visited within a specific amount of time. Guards can also wirelessly input incidents at each station. Acknowledgement of Alarms by Personal ID The DEVI 9000 makes every staff person accountable, allowing them to enter their unique acknowledge ID number at the computer or by hand held radio, portable telephone, wireless keypad or wireless pendant. Password Security An unlimited number of passwords allow users to customize access to system and software functions. Scheduler Users can also define time schedules for bypassing alarms, activating relays, or other outputs. This allows operators to disable a door alarm during the day but report its opening at night, or put anything, including lights and locks, on a time schedule. A holiday override is also included in the program. Reports A robust report generator filters all alarm information fields up to four levels deep and sorts three levels deep. Report formats can easily be saved and re-used. Acknowledge Groups Users can assign staff to specific acknowledge groups, limiting them to alarms only in their assigned areas. For example, a staff person assigned to floor 3 would only be able to acknowledge alarms from that floor, leaving other alarms that are not assigned to them in the acknowledge cue. Arming Groups The ability to group alarm devices together produces an unlimited number of independent alarm systems. This is especially necessary at large facilities where buildings may cover many acres, because it enables users to treat all the alarms in a specific area as a single unit. For instance, all the alarms in a particular building, including motion sensors, door contacts, etc., can be in the same arming group, so that one key command turns all of them on or off. These groups can also be set to arm and disarm on a time schedule. Element & Protection Services
Activity Monitoring The DEVI 9000 can oversee scheduled activities and generate an alarm if they do not occur on time. For example, if the backup generator is to be exercised every Friday at noon and it does not happen by 12:15 PM, or if the exercise does not stop on time, the system triggers an alarm. Acknowledge and Restoral Supervision A tardy acknowledge or tardy restoral alarm occurs if staff do not respond to or reset an alarm within a specific time period. These types of alarms can also be programmed to activate a dialer, , pager, or fax to alert supervisors. Logic Commands To allow for ultimate flexibility and to accommodate exact user requirements, Boolean logic commands can be used to create IF, THEN, ELSE, AND, OR scenarios and apply them to any combination of monitoring devices and time schedules. For example, door "A" must already be open for door "B" to generate an alarm when opened. This might be true from 8 AM to 5 PM, but at any other time the doors can generate alarms independently. Last Alarm Auto Dial (LAAD) A command from a hand held radio or telephone can alert the computer to locate and dial the number of a location originating an alarm, allowing the radio or telephone user to offer assistance and follow up immediately on the situation. Event Information An information window may be programmed to display specific instructions, such as who to call if a lower level sump pump is activated. It also provides a place for staff to enter notes on action taken or particular circumstances, compiling more information for the historical archive of the event. Momentary Disable Users can pre-define an amount of time to disable and re-arm any alarm. For instance, they can use a wireless or hardwired keypad to override a door alarm and allow ingress and egress. Momentary Delay Users can also program an alarm to delay activation for a specified period of time. For example, to allow free use of a door without propping it open, the alarm can be set to sound if the door is not closed in 5 seconds. Equipment Control The DEVI 9000 software is the ultimate control machine. Its near infinite flexibility lets users turn lights on or off, open parking gates, release door locks, pumps or fans, activate the lawn sprinkler and even turn on the coffee pot. It also provides options on how to trigger the activities: via time schedule, designated alarm, or even manually through a computer, hand held radio or telephone. Redundant Computers A second computer may also be installed to run on a standby basis and assume full operation if the main computer fails. Element & Protection Services
