Payroll is the only HR application that has reached market saturation. Time & attendance is also approaching market saturation.

6 Summary of Installation 5,209 hospitals have installed or contracted to install an application in at least one of the following areas: benefits administration, payroll, personnel management and time & attendance. 4,352 of these 5,209 hospitals (83 percent) use all four applications. Of the 4,352 hospitals that have all four HR applications, 893 hospitals (21 percent) use the same software vendor for all four applications. 356 additional hospitals have three of the four HR applications. Only a handful of hospitals (72) do not have any of the four HR solutions identified in this report currently implemented. N = 5,281
