2 WIKISPACES INTEGRATION GLOSSARY Wikispaces Considered the industry leader in wiki services, currently hosting wikis for more than 5 million people, classrooms and corporations around the world. Private Label Wikispaces Private Label is a self-contained wiki environment, giving administrators the ability to create any number of wikis while also managing users and content. SSO (Single Sign-on) A property of access control of multiple related, but independent, software systems. A user logs in once to gain access to all systems. Guest Access Ability for a non-authenticated user to gain limited access permissions to associated content. We use Wikispaces in a lot of different ways: as a classroom collaboration tool, a technology room resource and even as a place for departments and classes to share ideas. It s fully featured, easyto-use and overall a great product. And because administrators retain full control over the site, managing wiki users, pages and content is easy. A WhippleHill administrator can activate the integration from the installation screen in Podium, creating a new role for a Wikispaces Manager. Then, from the Wikispaces Settings task, the Manager enables the SSO integration, completes the Shared Secret and customizes the Guest Login Link Label, if desired, and saves. 3 A simple settings screen allows you to set up your Wikispaces authentication and customize link text for your guest access login screen. As the owner of a wikispace, granting other users access to your wikispace is as easy as copying and pasting a URL from wikispaces to any location in Podium. Teachers or Content Editors can add a link to their wikis wherever it is the most convenient for them. Links can be added to a Link Category or inserted in any editable text. Teachers, parents and students logged into Podium can then obtain direct access to the wikispaces they have been granted access to by clicking on the authenticated links, without the need to enter additional credentials. Clicking on the authenticated link will provide single sign-on (SSO) access to the user in the applicable wiki. This will prevent them from be required to enter an additional username and password. 4 Users not logged into Podium who click on a wikispaces link will be prompted to log in as a Guest user by clicking on the customizable Guest Login Link. Wikispaces then automatically logs the user in as a guest with access to the desired wikispace. If the user has not been authenticated through Podium, they will be directed to a login screen where they can either enter their login credentials or select the Guest Access link and enter Wikispaces as a guest.
