IDC Herzliya s interdisciplinary programs equip students with in-depth knowledge in their areas of expertise and the ability to work effectively across disciplines in their professional lives. We believe that the State of Israel and the Jewish People deserve capable, knowledgeable and humane leaders. Therefore we train the next generation of public and private sector leaders, equipping them with the vital skills, knowledge and mind-sets for effective global competition. Students as Partners Revolutionizing Education We believe that education is a collaborative venture between student and teacher. Our students are our partners in building an innovative educational institution. As Israel s first private institution of higher education, we have transformed the state s educational landscape, challenging established universities and the educational system to change and grow. Free Market Economy and Entrepreneurship We propose that Israel replace bureaucracy with entrepreneurship. International Outlook We prepare students to succeed in today s dynamic global village, providing them with a strong base in English and additional languages and valuable interaction with people from different cultures. Raphael Recanati International School We offer a unique doorway to Israel the only undergraduate degree programs in Israel taught completely in English. These programs help new immigrants adjust to life in Israel and prepare future Jewish leaders from around the globe to act as Israel s ambassadors upon returning to their home communities. Setting the Agenda Our flagship events, such as the Herzliya Conference and the International Conference on Counter-Terrorism, have become a platform for decision-makers to discuss Israel s strategic long-term needs, opportunities and challenges and to set the country s national agenda. We offer scholarships and academic programs that make higher education accessible to all and organize a variety of community outreach activities. Argov Fellowship Program We provide students with the tools to become actively involved in Israeli public diplomacy through initiatives like the Argov Fellowship Program. 5 Did You Know? The Prime Minister of Israel has chosen the annual Herzliya Conference as the venue to deliver his last three State of the Nation Addresses. 2. Four members of the Knesset have studied at IDC Herzliya. 3. IDC Herzliya faculty and students play key roles in the Knesset and governmentappointed committees that are preparing a constitution for Israel. 4. The International Institute for Counter-Terrorism website attracts hundreds of readers from around the globe daily, including readers from Arab countries that do not have diplomatic relations with Israel. ( 5. IDC s Community Legal Assistance Program has filed hundreds of cases in Israeli courts on behalf of private citizens. 6. Two of the Zell Program alumni have founded an international provider of cutting-edge website solutions. Our sports teams excel in Israeli intercollegiate athletics and the women s basketball team won gold medals at the Academic Sports Association International Games for five consecutive years. 10.
