1 Continuing Education Units - Criteria for Attendees IES provides the opportunity to register programs, courses and conferences for Continuing Education Units. These credits can assist members with maintaining their professional standing or to submit to state agencies for recertification and licensing. The following is a list of Organizations IES is accredited to provide pre-registered credits for. Organization IES AIA GBCI Credit Type CEU LU CE (limited - please inquire) Attendee Process - all attendees are REQUIRED to fill out the course survey, after the conclusion of the program. Attendees will be given the course code number by the program organizer, to use at Architects - Please ask the presenter/organizer of the program has been submitted to AIA for approval. If so, the AIA logo should appear on the first PPT slide. After the course concludes, fill out survey at using the course number provided by the presenter/organizer. After this has been done, you will automatically receive an IES certificate of attendance; please forward a copy of your downloaded IES CEU certificate to the IES Manager of Technology, along with your AIA member number. IES will register the hours attended on the AIA website. LCs - the NCQLP accepts most IES approved courses. Attendees must complete the IES survey at using the course number provided by the presenter/organizer. After the survey is filled out, the attendee will automatically receive an IES Certificate of Attendance. Please keep this for your records. **Note: LCs must self-report attendance at education events. The IES does not submit any data to the NCQLP. Please review the NCQLP credential maintenance requirements at LEED-APs - Please ask the presenter/organizer if the program has been submitted to for approval. If so, the USGBC logo will appear on the first PPT slide. Attendees must complete the IES survey at using the course number provided by the presenter/organizer. After the survey is filled out, the attendee will automatically receive an IES Certificate of Attendance. Please keep this for your records. **Note: LEED APs must self-report attendance at education events. The IES does not submit any data to GBCI regarding attendance. Please review the credential maintenance requirements at Engineers Self Report via Individual State Requirements for PDH (professional development hours). Attendees must complete the IES survey at using the course number provided by the presenter/organizer. After the survey is filled out, the attendee will automatically receive an IES Certificate of Attendance. Please keep this for your records

2 Continuing Education Units - Criteria for Organizers BEFORE THE PROGRAM STARTS at least 4 weeks before the program starts: 1. Submit the registration forms to IES (see below). 2. Submit the Speaker Quality Assurance form for verification of non-proprietary information. 3. The IES Manager of Technology will create a unique course number, and forward it to the course organizer after the conclusion of the course. AFTER THE PROGRAM HAS FINISHED 1. The program presenter/organizer gives the course number code to those who actually attended the course. 2. The program presenter/organizer must a list of those who actually attended and their e- mail addresses to the IES Manager of Technology, [email protected]. 3. The attendees log-in to using the course number code. The attendee must take the survey quiz, and when complete, the attendee will receive the IES Certificate of Attendance. 4. Attendees must keep the IES Certificate for self-reporting credential maintenance - except for AIA members IES (as the accredited education provider) will report attendance. Programs for IES and/or AIA must be submitted to IES at least one month in advance of the program start date. Programs for GBCI must be submitted 8 weeks in advance of the program start date. Programs submitted for GBCI credit must include: 1. IES Form 1, and 1A 2. A lo-res PDF file of the program presentation materials 3. The presenter s biography and CV

4 Who is the target audience? Learning objective to be achieved. Each program must have at least four (4) learning objectives clearly stated to indicate what new knowledge or skill participants will gain from the program. These should be clear, actionable statements of what you want the attendee to learn and must be clearly defined and communicated to participants in meeting announcements and at the beginning of the program. 5 Program Level (check one): 100 BASIC AWARENESS - teaches participants the elements of light and vision and their relationship to living spaces and perception. 200 INTERMEDIATE SKILLS - provides participants with the knowledge and skills required to solve problems in specific areas of lighting. 300 ADVANCED - teaches participants how to apply knowledge to complex design problems, about newly emerging areas, or about highly specialized subject areas. Registration fee: AIA - Health Safety and Welfare (Check ONLY if program is applicable for architects) Health Safety Welfare Does program qualifies for HSW credit.
