The Current owner and founder Alex Varro established Thuro Inc. in The company began with a single Flusher Truck to service sanitary and storm mainlines. As the need for this service grew, so did Thuro, and a diverse company excelling in the field of infrastructure repair and maintenance evolved. 6 PIPELINE IPELINE & S & SEWER INSPECTION Thuro Inc. utilizes remote television cameras for inspecting underground sewers and pipelines. The camera is a self-contained unit which is drawn through the pipe, and using its own light source, transmits a picture of the inside conditions of the pipe to the operator in the video van. The inspection results are captured on DVD for a permanent record. Defects along with their corresponding distance measurement are noted on the recording as well as in a written log report. The camera is typically drawn from manhole to manhole by a pressure flushing machine. A remote crawler is also available for conveying the camera when access is restricted to one end. The camera can be used for inspecting pipe diameters from 3 through 48 with a maximum cable length of 2500 feet. Similarly, the video camera can be lowered into water wells and boreholes. Closed Circuit Video Inspection remains the best tool for evaluating structural defects in underground pipes. There are many reasons for conducting sewer inspections, several are listed below: Inspection of sewer lines should be performed to avoid having to repair underground lines after the roads have been resurfaced. Sewer lines adjacent to water mains scheduled for replacement should be inspected to avoid having two excavations. Inspection of new sewer lines to ensure compliance to engineering specifications. Evaluating current conditions of pipe, infiltration problems and the effectiveness of cleaning operations. Planning renewals of older sewer systems.

7 MANDREL TESTING Mandrel testing is used to determine that the ovality of flexible sewer pipe meets design specification. This testing is critical to the long-term performance of PVC sewer lines being installed today. It ensures that new lines have been installed and bedded properly. Mandrels are assembled to the appropriate size and drawn through the lines to verify that the line s internal dimension meets the required specification. Thuro s light-weight aluminum deflection gauges utilize a nine-fin configuration which conforms to accepted practice for mandrel design. This allows for the passage of sewage when testing live sewers. Thuro proving rings are designed as Go + No Go devices that easily verify that each deflection gauge is within tolerance. They incorporate both oversize and undersize testing dimensions and are plated with corrosion resistant zinc. Thuro proving rings manufactured for use in The City of Calgary are each stamped with a unique serial number and receive individual approval for use in writing from the City of Calgary Water Resources - Research, Policy and Standards Team.

8 LINING Lining offers many benefits not only to the installation contractor, but to the property owner as well. CIPP Lining can eliminate recurring problem blockages and related damages from root intrusion. The liners can correct structural defects by spanning broken, cracked or missing sections of pipe and can greatly reduce groundwater infiltration/exfiltration where installed. Thuro Inc. utilizes two methods of CIPP Lining, Full Segment and Point Repair. Full segment is installed throughout the entire length of pipe in cases where there are multiple problem areas. Point Repairs are generally used in pipes that only have a small problem area that can be rehabilitated with less than 3m of lining material. Full segment liners are completed in one day and a typical Point Repair project can be done in approximately 4 1/2 to 6 hours. Allows pipe rehabilitation without the costly investment of a backhoe, dump truck and trailer. Reduced potential for accidental damage to other adjacent underground utilities during standard dig and replace methods. Can eliminate street excavation, paving, traffic control problems and possible accidental excavation damage to municipal utilities. Reduced landscape damage and restoration costs compared to conventional dig and replace methods. Minimal inconvenience to property owner during the rehabilitation as work can be performed from the building exterior. Elimination of future soil compaction and settling. Lower costs compared to dig and replace method, especially in congested areas

9 REPAIR & TRENCHLESS TECHNOLOGY PIPE BURSTING Rehabilitation of sewers unsuitable for CIPP Lining. Lower Risk of damage to underground utilities. Work can typically be completed in 2 days. Offers a continuous pipe with plastic welded joints Replaces the sewer service without having to excavate the entire yard or area. Uses patented British Gas Technology and High Density Plastic Pipe (HDPE) ensuring strength and durability. Can be used under trees, sidewalks, fences, retaining walls, garages and flower beds with minimal damage. Pipe Bursting is the environmental solution to replacing sewer lines. Only minimal digging is required, an insertion pit in or near the building and a winch pit at the property line. Once the minor excavation is complete, a cable is pulled through the old sewer pipe. The bursting head is then attached at the insertion pit and is winched through. As the head bursts the old pipe and pushes it into the surrounding soil, it simultaneously pulls the new HDPE pipe through, completely replacing the damaged sewer line. An expander on the head increases the diameter slightly so the friction on the new pipe is not significant. When the new pipe reaches the winch pit it is then detached and the new sewer line is hooked up. Finally it is Video Inspected to ensure a successful installation.

10 ACUUMING & H YDRO VAC AC POWER FLUSHING With our Flusher Truck operating from the surface, an operator inserts the flusher hose into the sewer pipe through the Manhole. Backward facing jets propel the nozzle providing all of it s forward thrust. The forward facing jet pierces blockages in it s path. & HYDRO As the nozzle is pulled back, the walls of the sewer pipe are cleaned and debris is flushed out. High Pressure and volume achieves maximum cleaning results., V, VACUUMING POWER FLUSHING LUSHING, V VACUUMING Thuro s fleet of Vacuum Trucks range from low profile units for underground parkades to large tandem trucks for lift stations, septic systems and various pits and sumps. Tank volumes range from 700 gallons to 3000 gallons.
