10 Military Intelligence Integration A CASE STUDY Assess The Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A) program was tasked with consolidating nine stovepiped Programs of Record (PORs) to improve interoperability and reduce costs. Booz Allen assessed legacy systems and identified capability gaps and overlaps across the PORs. Architect Employing our Enterprise Integration methodology, we developed the blueprint and roadmap to migrate the stovepiped PORs into a consolidated, integrated, streamlined system. Assemble By defining the DCGS-A interface specifications, we delivered a cohesive, single enterprise solution based on an open architecture and Government-controlled specifications. Advance The DCGS-A consolidation achieved an estimated $3B in cost avoidance over the total life cycle. These savings enable DCGS-A to continue investing in innovations like the DCGS-A Standard Cloud (DSC), the first tactically deployed DoD cloud capability. 11 Operations Intelligence Center Integration A CASE STUDY Assess JIEDDO Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Operations/Intelligence Integration Center (COIC) needed to be transitioned away from an incumbent contractor towards a future mission architecture with zero disruption of operations. Booz Allen began by assessing a fragmented system portfolio of 60+ COTS, GOTS and custom-developed tools, many of which contained redundant and stovepiped features that relied on proprietary solutions. Architect With 100% transparency, we developed a detailed transition-in plan that followed our proven four-phased approach across all executing Task Orders. In the process, we placed the appropriate controls to monitor and assure ongoing mission support. Assemble Through careful planning and methodical execution, we successfully managed and implemented a seamless 30-day transition of all responsibility from the outbound contractor with no disruption of the operational mission. By delivering a roadmap and future state architecture design, we have enabled the COIC to support today s mission requirements and tomorrow s expanded mission needs. Advance In developing and deploying Catapult the COIC s cloud-based architecture we were able to deliver leap-ahead technology and an accredited framework. Within this framework, we deployed 10 Attack the Network capabilities, increasing user access to mission critical data, lowering operation cost for the government and enabling mission success.
