3 Continuing Education Credits: Attorneys: The CPTI curriculum is pending approval for attorneys by the Virginia State Bar. CPTI maintains responsibility for the program and its content. Virginia attorneys will be eligible, once approved, for 20 hours of 20 CLE credit to include 2.5 ethics credits. (The CPTI curriculum has been approved in other states for this number of CLEs for attorneys.) Full attendance is required. Mental Health Professionals: 3-C Institute for Social Development is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. 3-C Institute for Social Development maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Psychologists can obtain 20 hours of continuing education credit. Full attendance is required. 3-C Institute for Social Development is approved as a provider of continuing education for social workers by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB; through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. 3-C Institute for Social Development maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Social workers can obtain 20 hours of continuing education credit. Full attendance is required. 3-C Institute for Social Development is an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) and may offer NBCC approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. 3-C Institute for Social Development is solely responsible for all aspects of this program. Broussard, CFP, CDFA, is a Principal of Financial Designs of Virginia where he has served as Advisor to individual and small business clients for over 25 years. As a Collaborative Divorce Professional Lonnie is a Founding Member and Past Chair of Collaborative Divorce Solutions of Tidewater, a Founding Member and Past Chair of Virginia Collaborative Professionals, a member of The International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, a member of The Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts, and a Founding Member of Collaborative Practice Training Institute (CPTI). As a Lead Trainer with CPTI, Lonnie has provided multiple trainings in Collaborative Practice and in Interest-Based Negotiation Skills to attorneys and professionals in the mental health and financial disciplines. Adele D'Ari, Ed.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and partner in Washington Falls Psychotherapy in Falls Church, Virginia, and has been practicing in Virginia and the District of Columbia for over twenty years. She is the president-elect of the Virginia Academy of Collaborative Professionals and is a co-chair of the Collaborative Professionals of Northern Virginia. Her practice specializes in working with couples and families going through separation and divorce, as well as the treatment of traumatic grief. Her work with divorcing families includes her role as a divorce coach, child specialist, and co-parent facilitator as parent as well as regular work with families and couples. She is a clinical member and approved supervisor of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and founded the Northern Virginia Reflecting Team. She is also a member of the American Psychological Association, the International Association of Collaborative Professionals, the Association of Family Conciliation Courts, the Collaborative Professionals of Northern Virginia, and founding member of the Collaborative Practice Training Institute. She received her BA degree from the University of Vermont, Masters in Counseling Psychology from Temple University, and her doctorate in counseling psychology from Northeastern University in Lisa Herrick, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked with children, families and couples for twenty years. She is a former President of the D.C. Academy of Collaborative Professionals (DCACP). She still serves on their Board and is also a member of Collaborative Professionals of Northern Virginia (CPNV). Dr. Herrick has completed over 70 Collaborative cases on multidisciplinary teams and has worked as a Collaborative Coach and as a Child
5 Specialist. She is a founding member of the Collaborative Practice Training Institute (CPTI) and meets the IACP standards as a lead trainer in Collaborative Practice. She has offered seven Collaborative trainings of various kinds with other CPTI professionals over the last two years. With Kate Scharff, she has co-authored a book titled, The Emotional Dynamics of Collaborative Divorce: A Guide for the Whole Team, published by the American Bar Association Press in October, Most recently, Dr. Herrick co-founded the Collaborative Practice Center of Greater Washington, where mental health, legal and financial professionals share space, and work together to promote Collaborative endeavors. He has served as a member of the Virginia State Bar Legislative Committee and was the co-chair of the ADR-Case Evaluator of the Family Law Action Group. Mr. Smollar is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Mr. Smollar has been practicing Collaborative Family Law for five years. He actively participates in and has led programs for the practice groups for the District of Columbia (DCACP) and Northern Virginia (CPNV). Mr. Smollar has completed both the AAML's Arbitration Program and their Mediation Program and currently has an active mediation practice. He has also completed the AAML Negotiation Training put on by the Harvard Law School Negotiation Program. Mr. Smollar lectures on family law matters for continuing legal education programs in D.C. and Virginia.
6 Dillina W. Stickley, J.D. a partner in the law firm of Hoover Penrod, plc., in Harrisonburg, Virginia, maintains a diverse general civil practice focused on family law, business and employment law. Dillina uses a collaborative approach to domestic relations issues and uses those same skills for business, commercial and employment disputes. In addition to an active collaborative practice, Dillina is a frequent lecturer and trainer of Collaborative Practice. She meets the IACP standards as a lead trainer in Collaborative Practice and has served as a trainer in and around Virginia, including Washington and Lee and University of Virginia Schools of Law. Dillina is a founding member of Collaborative Professionals of the Shenandoah Valley (CPSV) headquartered in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and a founding member of the Collaborative Practice Training Institute (CPTI) and Virginia Collaborative Professionals (VaCP).
