The object of the course is to develop the professional knowledge and understanding of its students, in order to prepare them for appointment as Lt Col rank and higher, both in Command and Staff, in national and multinational units, formations and headquarters. 2 Junior Command and Staff Course S The Infantry School, The Military College, Irish Defence Forces Training Centre, Curragh Camp, Co Kildare. The object of the course is to equip officers to hold a Majors Command and to acquire a knowledge of command appointments normally allocated to Lt Col. The object of the course is to inculcate discipline and esprit de corps, to develop in students the qualities of leadership and to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to lay the foundations for a professional military career thereby equipping students to hold a junior officer command and to acquire knowledge of command appointments normally allocated to platoon commander. 15 Months. 7 IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVISE DISPOSAL REVALIDATION S The Ordnance School, Irish Defence Forces Training Centre, Curragh Camp, Co Kildare. The aim of the course is to revalidate previously qualified IEDD Operators and to update them in new techniques, technology and equipment. Instruction is given on Terrorist Devices, New Techniques, Equipment Handling and Render Safe Procedures. Students must demonstrate that they have assimilated the instruction and that they are capable of operating safely, efficiently and effectively as IEDD Operators during practical tests on simulated devices. 3 Weeks May 2007; 5-23 May 2008 and May 2008 [email protected]

8 EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DEVICE AND IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE DISPOSAL S The Ordnance School, Irish Defence Forces Training Centre, Curragh Camp, Co Kildare. The aim of the course is to revalidate previously qualified IEDD Operators and to update them in new techniques, technology and equipment. The Course covers all equipment currently in use with Irish IEDD Teams. Instruction is also given on Disruptive techniques and Improvised Explosive Devices.
