3 USACC Mission and Vision Mission Statement USACC partners with universities to recruit, educate, develop, and inspire SROTC Cadets in order to commission officers of character for the Total Army; and partners with high schools to conduct JROTC in order to develop citizens of character for a lifetime of commitment and service to our Nation. Vision Statement We are an innovative, effective organization manned by specially selected professional Cadre, Staff and Faculty fully prepared to educate and train the most diverse and talented Cadets from across the Nation to become adaptive leaders, lifetime learners, critical thinkers and problem solvers, and committed to the Army Ethos and Profession of Arms. 3

7 Army ROTC Scholarships We are the largest grantor of college scholarships in the United States In FY15 we will give scholarships to almost 13,000+ students totaling ~$270 million Scholarships can be for 2, 3, or 4 years (competitive) Money can be for tuition or room & board (not both by law) Scholarships students also qualify for $1,200 for books/supplies And a monthly stipend of $300, $350, $450, and $500, depending on year 4 Year: 24% 3 Year: 9% Top 5% of Class 48% 44% 41% Top 25% of Class 85% 82% 78% Honor Society 49% 49% 56% Mean SAT (Reading + Math) 2 Year: 3% None: 63.5% 31% of all cadets are on scholarship ~67% of cadets receiving commissions receive scholarships 4 Year Scholarship Winner Profile High School GPA
8 Purpose of Army ROTC Scholarships Provide Financial Assistance for Quality Students Who Have Achieved Academic Excellence and Demonstrated Leadership Provide the Nucleus to Attract Quality Academic Disciplines and Geographic, Ethnic and Academic Diversity Supports Recruiting the Best Qualified Officers for America s Army Generate Competition to Ensure Best Qualified Receive Financial Assistance Candidates 8
9 General Scholarship Benefits Army ROTC Scholarship recipients receive: Full Financial assistance for College tuition and mandatory education fees (or room and board) Tax free subsistence allowance for up to 10 months a year A/O 1 Oct 02 MS 1 300/month MS 2 350/month MS 3 450/month MS 4 500/month $1200 annually for textbooks, classroom supplies and equipment. Nurses $ one time payment for equipment The Army ROTC Scholarship does not pay Flight fees. 9
