2 Bachelor of Economics and IT 3½-year-programme The global development is creating a need for employees with practical understanding of the integration of IT into business administration. It will not suffice to rely exclusively on employees with qualifications limited to the fields of programming, systems maintenance or traditional business administration. Rather, the enterprises need employees with additional knowledge of the analytic, business-related and strategic significance of IT employees whose outlook is practical and projectoriented as well as cross-curricular, involving all members of the organisation. To fulfil that need, we have developed an International Bachelor Programme of Economics and IT with all courses taught in English. This combined programme is characterised by the following strengths: n The programme is based on a number of cour ses and teaching methods that provide a unique combination of theory and practical experience. n The programme includes six months of internship with a business enterprise or organisation. n The programme is divided into modules and allows for credit transfer to other programmes in the educational system. Career Possibilities The programme aims at educating the students for jobs primarily within the private sector. n Small and medium-sized companies demand employees with knowledge of solving problems regarding IT as well as making financial decisions. n The international profile of the programme gives the students strength in proportion to companies acting internationally or globally. n The programme makes further and higher education and specializing at Graduate programmes possible in Denmark as well as in other countries. The structure of the programme The philosophy of the programme is that learning and qualifications are best acquired through the interaction of theory and practice. To this end, we cooperate with companies to ensure the inclusion of practical cases in the programme. In addition, the programme includes practical IT projects and prepares the student for the bachelor project and the final period of internship. Indeed, project work tends to dominate all courses, and all students are issued with laptops, Internet access, etc.

4 Admission requirements and the size of the student intake The programme is available to students with an upper-secondary school leaving exam (Danish or Nordic) or equivalent foreign exam with a minimum requirement of Mathematics and English qualifications corresponding to Danish level B. Every year the campus will establish one class with a maximum of approx. 40 students. This ensures a viable and manageable study environment, wellsuited for project-based teaching. Applicants with the following entrance qualifications may be eligible for admission: n upper-secondary school leaving exam n equivalent foreign exams Admission to the Bachelor Programme of Economics and Information Technology is handled by the Coordinated Application System (KOT), Holders of non-nordic entrance exams must use a special application form for the Bachelor of Economics and IT, If you are also applying for other programmes or institutions in Denmark you must submit the regular Danish KOT-application form to all institutions.

5 Required level of English proficiency for this programme n Applicants who have achieved the test scores outlined below will be directly eligible for enrolment: n IELTS test with a minimum score of 6,5 n TOEFL test with a score of 575 (paper-based) n TOEFL test with a score of 230 (computer-based) n TOEFL test with a score of 88 (internet based) n Resident foreign students have the option of taking a language test at the campus consisting of an interview and a written test. Tuition fees n Citizens of the EU, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein no tuition fee. n Refugees and immigrants living in Denmark no tuition fee. n Other countries Fee for the 3½-year Bachelor Programme of Economics and IT amounts to a total of DKK for the entire programme (approximately EURO ). Practical matters Slagelse is situated about 100 kilometres from the capital, Copenhagen. The town is an education centre in the western part of Zealand offering a wide range of educational opportunities. It is also a commercial centre with a lot of shopping facilities. Over the years Slagelse has also developed into a cultural centre with a wide range of live music, theatres, cinema and all imaginable sports and leisure facilities. Slagelse has almost endless possibilities whether you wish to spend a quiet day in the country or prefer the excitement of city life. Slagelse is a traffic centre with train and bus connections to a large number of locations in Denmark. Campus is only a ten-minute walk from the train station. In addition, Slagelse offers a large range of excellent sports facilities; and the town is lively with many shops and cafés and an active nightlife. For accommodation, Slagelse is well equipped with youth flats in addition to several student residence facilities. The University guarantees you a place to live.

6 Registration: The study programme starts on 1 September. With a non-nordic qualifying exam the deadline for registration is 15 March. Applications received after 15 March will be processed continuously. With a Danish/Nordic qualifying exam the application deadline is 5 July.
