2 End of Life: Winshuttle Node Lock and FlexNet licensing technology As of Dec 31, 2013 Winshuttle will no longer support legacy licensing models. What does this mean for me? All new software releases will no longer accept these license types Any bugs, errors, or issue related to these license types will no longer be addressed by Winshuttle support or development teams

3 End of Life: Winshuttle Node Lock and FlexNet licensing technology What this does NOT mean? Your software will stop working January 1 st User s will retain access to the software with their current license License moves will not be allowed Most license moves do not require involvement from support, those that do will still be supported Script and software issues will not be handled by Support Issues not related to licensing will fall under normal support Questions?

4 Node Locked Node locked licensing tied the user s license to a specific machine. Issues that this caused Activation inconsistency Issues pinging the Winshuttle license server Issues automatically saving the license file Inability to access remotely Difficult to move Difficult to track current users Difficulty collecting overall usage data for all users

5 FlexNet (Network) FlexNet licensing tied a users license to their Windows logon credentials, validating against an internal license server. Issues that this caused Outdated license server compatibility Only supported on Windows Server 2003 or bit 3 rd party licensing tool that is no longer supported by parent company The Winshuttle Development team is unable to fix a growing number of issues Outage issues can take longer to resolve as the license server is housed internally and not monitored by Winshuttle Difficulty collecting overall usage data for all users

Central Housed on internal SharePoint site Provides governance and control beyond license assignment Approval workflows Usage policies Access restrictions Centralized repository for scripts and data files Provides ability to use web forms

Connect Internet based license management system Universal access No longer tied to a single PC, user is able to access from any internet enabled PC with their licensed application installed. Internal license management Ability to designate a single or multiple license administrators to manage licenses within your organization Easily track maintenance expiration Centralized reporting

8 How to Migrate Contact Support expressing interest support.winshuttle.com Support will request the following Upgrade all users to version or higher Identify the site/license admin to manage the Connect site Identify which licenses you would like to move With this information Support will... Create the Connect site and licenses, as well as create the site/license admin

9 Connect Site Administration Site Admin Has no functional limitations Can create/manage all licenses and users (including license administrators) License Admin Can manage a set of assigned licenses Can create license users, license and reports admins Can manage license users and reports admins

11 Connect Site Administration Users Tab: Creating Users License administrators are responsible for creating users that will access the Connect site or licenses To do this Navigate to the Users tab and select Add A User

12 Connect Site Administration Required fields The user s address The domain will be preloaded to the Connect site User role License User License Admin Reports Admin

13 Connect Site Administration All s sent from the Connect site will be available in the Communications tab. This will allow you to access and resend any important notifications such as User Creation User Deletion Reset Password

16 Connect Site Administration The Reports tab contains 5 different usage reports Most Scripts Processed Report of the users with the highest number of scripts executed Top ROI Transactions Report of the Transaction codes with the highest Return on Investment (Winshuttle v. manual entry) Most Records Processed Report of the users with the highest number of records processed Most Used SAP Objects Report of the most commonly used Transaction codes or Tables Usage Report This is a report of all software usage Date, shuttle upload time, manual upload time, and time saved

17 User Migration Registration Once the user has been created, they are sent an containing a registration link that they can use to setup their password Selecting this link will take them to a page where they can designate a password

18 User Migration Once the user has registered their account, they will need to break the tie that the software has with their old license type before they can access their Connect license Node locked Deactivation - Open the Winshuttle software and click Help > About

19 User Migration-Node locked continued Select the Deactivate License button Select Yes when asked if you d like to continue

20 User Migration FlexNet/Network Delete the local copy of the users license file Version default locations are: XP users - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Winshuttle\License Windows Vista/7 users - C:\ProgramData\Winshuttle\License Prior to version 10 the default location was: C:\Program Files\Winshuttle\*Application*\License

21 User Migration Activation Once the license has been deactivated (node locked) or deleted (network) the user can reactivate using their Connect credentials Launch the application and select Activate

22 User Migration- Activation continued Select Connect as the license type Enter Connect credentials and select OK Selecting Remember Logon will prevent users from needing to enter their credentials in each time
