2 Who are we? The British Pest Control Association (BPCA) is the leading trade association for the UK pest control sector. We provide a variety of services and benefits to our 500+ member companies, and we place great importance on promoting the highest standards of professionalism within the industry. Established in 1942, BPCA acts in the interests of its members and on behalf of the pest management industry within the UK. The Association highlights the risks of inadequate control, offers guidance and advises government, media and the general public on the dangers of public health pests. Why should I join? BPCA is for the professional pest controller who believes in delivering a professional service. We provide members with the essential skills, tools and support needed to build a successful company. There are several categories of BPCA Membership designed to reflect the needs of the pest control industry in Britain. These include: Full Servicing Manufacturer and Distributor Consultant Associate Probationary Scheme Observer Each category of membership is different, all having specific membership criteria which your company needs to meet in order to join. Your level of membership will be dependent on your business needs and ability to meet criteria. 3 Growing your Business Consumer Search Facilities * Paying you back Thousands of consumers, looking for professional pest management services are referred to our database of servicing companies either by phone at our 24 hour call centre, or via the BPCA website. Association Logo ** The mark of a professional Give consumers confidence in your services. Display the recognised BPCA Member logo on your website, marketing literature, uniforms and vehicles, and you ll undoubtedly feel the financial benefit. Assessments * Completed for the benefit of your business Demonstrate to your customers that you are delivering a continued professional service of the highest standard, through our accredited assessment scheme. As part of your membership fee all servicing members are subject to a detailed on-site assessment at regular intervals to ensure you still meet the highest of standards. These can include corporate advertising, finance, insurance, banking, telephone systems, answering services and clothing. Client credit checks Choosing the right clients We offer a free credit checks for all servicing members, allowing you to check your clients and suppliers credit history before you commit. 4 alexo The publication aimed at your customers alexo is the BPCA publication aimed at your potential customers to promote member companies. We target those decision makers, facilities managers or commercial business owners responsible for placing pest control contracts. Members have the opportunity to submit editorial, and promote their company through discounted advertising in this sought-after and unique publication. BPCA Website Support at the touch of a button As a member you ll also be able to build your own website for your company using the BPCA mini-site system, giving you an online presence and the opportunity to promote your business online. Our team are also happy to offer help and advice with IT issues such as creating your own web presence and communicating in the 21st century. BPCA promoting your business Making customers come to you BPCA is working with major organisations such as BBC and NHS to deliver information to end users and the public on public health pests. We attend a variety of local and national exhibitions promoting the use of our members. Once a year we produce an annual national survey of pest species, profiling the hotspots for pests across the UK, which is covered in national and local press, and is available free of charge to all members. Jobsite Fill your vacancies quickly You ll have access to post jobs on the BPCA jobs board, the most popular pest control jobsite in the industry. 5 Ongoing support Technical support Thousands of answers only a click or phone call away We have full-time industry experienced technical experts available in person, by or on the phone to help you day-to-day with all aspects of service delivery. The BPCA website also has a wide variety of guidance documents, Codes of Practice, useful links, industry news, and health and safety information. Business support whenever you need it Through BPCA s BusinessShield free phone line and website you can get access to unlimited Health and Safety, Environmental and Employment Law advice, and a complementary review of your current Health and Safety/ Employment Law standards and documentation. We re here to help you grow - our team can also offer you assistance with finance, sales, marketing or legislation. Committee Meetings Have your voice heard BPCA is run by members, for members. All full members have the opportunity to join our various committees, and influence changes in the Association and the industry as a whole. Lobbying on your behalf Representing your interests We lobby national and international organisations, as well as Government to influence current and future legislation that may affect the way you work.

Networking Opportunities Connecting you to the industry Our Regional Training Forums are delivered across the UK, giving you chances to network with like-minded people working in the sector. All our Forums include expert speakers from the industry. BPCA also runs PestEx, one of the largest pest control exhibitions in the world. News and Information Keeping you up-to-date PPC (Professional Pest Controller) is available in hard copy or electronically through the BPCA website.
