1 1 Curriculum Vitae, October 16, 2014 MARIO SALTARELLI, Ph. D. Professor Department of Spanish and Portuguese Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences 156R Taper Hall of Humanities University of Southern California Los Ángeles, California Tel Fax Nel 1966 compie i requisiti per il titolo accademico di Ph.D in Linguistica Generale presso la Graduate School della University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, Illinois (vedi 1). Firenze: Sansoni) e la fonologia dell italiano (A Phonology of Italian. The Hague: Mouton) alla lingua basca (Basque. Kent: Croom Helm).

"The Syntax of Deixis" (in corso di elaborazione, v. Saltarelli 2011, 2013, 2014) esplora l'ipotesi e i sui riflessi descrittivi e teorici sull'interfaccia contesto-sintassi. 1. (A Light Performative Hypothesis) of the pragmatics-syntax interface in the general theory of grammar conceived on minimalist and necessary context assumptions about the faculty of human language and its overt syntax. The volume is the direct conceptual

9 9 consequence of empirical and theoretical research on speech acts and small-sized clauses. The authors have tested and presented aspects of this light performative hypothesis to specialistic conferences in the last five years. (cf. section 5.3 of this CV). Available Feb from Cambridge U. Press. See advance review in the announcement below: Reviews & endorsements Advance Praise: "This book opens a so far unexplored space: the context-sensitivity of narrow syntax. It successfully shows that the syntactic formalization of notions such as Speaker and Addressee are Necessary to provide a deeper understanding of the nature of grammar. The authors draw a fascinating picture of how a syntactic theory can incorporate and represent indexicality." Alessandra Giorgi, Professor of Linguistics, Ca' Foscari University, Venice, Italy BOOKS in preparation -(Author) The Syntax of Deixis (in prep. 2015). A context-sensitive formalization as an operatorvariable theory of syntax in a biolinguistic conception of grammar and language based on the [Speaker>Addressee] relation of logical irreflexivity (cf. Ch. 4 of The Syntax of Imperatives, 2014), crosslinguistically observed in the ontological deictic organization of syntax across languages: Determiners,. Pronouns, Demonstratives, Possessives, Adverbs, etc.. cf.
