9 A Voyage of Discovery With 3,000 miles between Regent University and her hometown of San Jose, Calif., sophomore Natalie Lupo traveled a long way to discover her potential. It s a journey that changed her life, introducing her to a world where she can share the power of her own voice. I ve not only grown academically, but spiritually, says Natalie, a government major with an emphasis in pre-law. I could tell it was just right. Regent is all about nurturing the student. In this environment, Natalie has thrived. She s founded a pre-law chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, a prestigious law fraternity, to help other students interested in law. She s made connections with leaders like Dr. Jay Sekulow, chief counsel for the American Center for Law & Justice, and former Virginia Attorney General Bob McDonnell. But Natalie s professors are her most powerful mentors encouraging her to plan for the future. She hopes to graduate from Regent Law and pursue a career as an attorney. My professors make themselves available; they re approachable, says Natalie. You can stop by their offices and talk to them about whatever you need. To know that you are valued as a student and as a person that s incredible.
